The Role of Homeopathy in Managing Childhood Mood Disorders: A 70% Success Rate

The parents of a 14-year-old male patient (Patient ID: 53325) visited the Vashi Life Force Homeopathy branch, expressing concerns about their son's decreased appetite, dullness, and persistent sleepiness throughout the day. He had a lean, thin body, weakness, and an easy way of getting tired after physical exertion. His parents were also worried about his mood swings because the patient was often irritable, acted aggressively, was short-tempered, avoided family, felt depressed, stayed busy in his work, and avoided social situations. He also felt alone since he had no friends because of his parents'' transferable jobs. His parents also mentioned that he is struggling in school and does not want to be involved in any hobbies. He dislikes his younger brother as well. The patient was enrolled in seventh grade at Apeejay School in Kharghar. His father was a software developer for the Central Bank of India, and his mother worked in the IT industry. The patient also has a six-year-old younger brother.

The patient experiences persistent feelings of loneliness and unhappiness, stemming from parental neglect. Lacking a social circle, he has no close friends and feels emotionally deprived due to his parents' strained relationship and demanding work schedules. He consequently tends to be irritable and short-tempered and avoid close relationships with family members. He also strongly disapproves of what his parents did.

Physical Generals:
His appetite was diminished; he had a craving for Chinese, chips, and fast food. Aversion to green vegetables and any other healthy food that is prepared at home. Thermally, the patient was chilly and had no complaints of micturition or bowel movements. His sleep was sound and he usually slept on the back and side positions.

Family History:
The father is suffering from allergic rhinitis, the mother has an underactive thyroid and anxiety neurosis, and his younger brother is having stammering issues.
Based on all the mental and physical symptoms of the patient, Dr. Rajesh Shah TUBERCULINUM 1M will mainly work on his mental symptoms and will bring positive effects to the patient's behavior and emotional being.

Follow-ups:
At the time of his initial follow-up on February 9, 2024, the patient's aggressive behavior had improved by 5%. All other symptoms were the same, and there was no change in appetite.
After a few months of stability, the patient's condition improved dramatically on November 6, 2024. There were no new complaints, irritability was much better than before, mood swings improved, sleep and lethargy symptoms were lessened, and aggression was lessened than before.

He was 60–65% better overall on January 7, 2025, and all complaints had significantly improved.
The patient's condition has improved by over 70%, irritation has greatly decreased, and mood swings have improved, but lethargic feelings appear to have increased after 5 p.m. The patient's last follow-up was conducted on February 18, 2025. All other symptoms of the mood disorder have also improved to a greater degree.

Conclusion:
With a reported 70% improvement in symptoms, this case illustrates how homeopathic treatment with Life Force can significantly improve mood disorders in children, indicating that homeopathy may present a promising supplemental strategy for treating mood disorders in children.
