Fortunately, we have homeopathy to treat the condition effectively and safely without any adverse effects. Let’s have a look at a case of benign enlargement of the prostate that was treated with homeopathy effectively.

A 73-year-old patient (PIN: 40160) visited Life Force Homeopathy on 16th May 2019 for the treatment of Benign Enlargement of the Prostate, for which he was suffering for 12 years. His main presenting symptom was difficulty in the urination that he had started experiencing in the last 2 weeks. The patient was using a urinary catheter daily for voiding urine.
He was suffering from recurrent UTI for the last 6 months.

His USG done on 07.04.2019 showed Grade 3 prostatomegaly. He was recommended surgery by all allopathic physicians, but, due to cardiac complications, surgery was not done. The patient told us that he had Myocardial infarction in 2009 for which he had done angioplasty. He was also hypertensive and was on allopathic medicines for 20 years.
He was asked about his current prescription details. The patient was on allopathic medicines for hypertension, cardiac issue, and BPH.

His family history was also enquired. His father was also a patient with hypertension.

A detailed case history of the patient was noted considering both his physical and mental generals.

The patient was a non-vegetarian and had an average appetite. He had craving for spicy food. His thirst was average. He had average perspiration and was ambi-thermal. He had unsatisfactory motion and often suffered from constipation because of the allopathic medicines that he was following. His urinary symptoms were asked in detail. The patient was experiencing difficulty in urination for the last 2 weeks. He had to strain to pass the urine. The patient was using a urinary catheter daily for voiding urine. He was suffering from recurrent UTI for the last 6 months.
His sleep was often disturbed and interrupted (particularly around 2 am -3 am). He preferred lying on the back.

His mental generals and history were also enquired. He had a very happy and supportive family and had a very happy childhood. He got married at the age of 30 years. His marital life was also satisfactory. He had 3 children, and he was a lot concerned about them, particularly about his first child who was suffering from polio. His current concern was his health. The patient told us that he was very short-tempered, and he often used to shout at people when he was angry. The patient was often mentally irritated, mainly because of his health issue.

During the whole case taking, it was observed that the patient was abrupt, precise, expressive, and confident with the way he was talking.
His intellectual sphere was also asked. His memory, logic, intelligence, perception, and analysis all were good.

His physical and systemic examination was done.

Dr. Shah had gone through the case history in detail and prescribed medicines after evaluating the whole case.

Follow-ups:

The patient’s first follow-up was done in July 2019. The discomfort including the usage of a urinary catheter was removed after taking homeopathic medicines, and he felt relieved.
During his second follow-up in September 2019, the patient told us that he had a severe attack of cough and chest congestion along with severe breathing difficulty 5-6 weeks back for which he had to take allopathic medication along with our medicines. Because of antibiotics and cough syrup, the urinary issues had reappeared, and the patient was on a urinary catheter again.
By October 2019, the patient was 10% better, and the catheter was removed.

By November 2019, the patient was 25% better and was able to pass urine by himself without the use of the catheter.

By January 2020, the patient was 50% better with regards to his relief in the urinary symptoms.

In February, the patient had an attack of UTI, for which he had to take antibiotics for one week.

However, in the further follow-ups, the patient was getting better and his relief was improving. The patient was very happy that he was completely free from the catheter and was not getting repeated UTI like earlier. He was very thankful to Dr. Shah and Life Force for the same.

Conclusion:

This case illustrates that homeopathy can effectively treat BHP without any surgical intervention. Homeopathy not only gives you relief from the common symptoms of BHP but also prevents further enlargement of the prostate gland. Homeopathy works at a deep, constitutional level without any side effects and is the safest mode of treatment for disease conditions, such as BHP.
