A 12 Years Chronic Lichen Planus Patient Recovered In 1.5 Years With Dr. Shah’s Homeopathy

What is Lichen Planus?

Lichen Planus is an inflammatory condition of the skin and mucus membrane. It results when the immune system mistakenly attacks the skin or mucus membranes, leading to red, purplish, and inflamed, fluid-filled lesions on the skin. It may also affect mucous membranes leading to white lacy lesions or, sometimes, painful sores.

There are different types of Lichen Planus:

- Cutaneous Lichen Planus - affects the skin.

- Oral Lichen Planus - affects the oral cavity.

- Vulval/Penile Lichen Planus- affects the genital area.

- Lichen Planopilaris - affects the scalp.

- Nail Lichen Planus.

- Lichen Planus Pigmentosa affects the skin, but only pigmentation is there without inflammation.

Fortunately, you can treat the condition with homeopathy. Here’s a case of lichen planus that was treated successfully at Life Force.

Case Study:

A 27-year-old male patient, Mr. A. S. (PIN: 43666) visited Life Force Homeopathy for the treatment of Lichen Planus on 6th February 2020.

The patient has had Lichen Planus since the age of 15 years. He took Ayurvedic treatment at that time and was in remission for 10 years, but now lichen planus has relapsed in the last two years. He presented with these symptoms:

- Lesions had developed on his left axilla, left side of the chest, left upper back, and left ankle.

- Lesions were active, reddish-purple, inflamed, and fluid-filled with itching and burning, but, as he was taking allopathic medicines, itching and burning were bearable.

- There was hyperpigmentation where lesions had healed.

Physical Generals:

The patient was a non-vegetarian and had cravings for spicy food. He disliked green vegetables. He used to have alcohol once a month and smoked at times.

Psychological Generals:

The patient was reserved, and introverted, but confident. He would get angry when contradicted.

At Life Force:

After a detailed analysis of the case, Dr. Shah prescribed his research-based medicines for Lichen Planus to the patient. He was advised to avoid alcohol, gluten, milk, and milk products.

Follow-Ups:

On the first follow-up on 16th October 2020, the patient reported an increase in the lesions on his axilla and chest due to stopping allopathic medicines. The itching and burning had also increased.

On 23rd November 2020, the thickness of lesions & itching had increased.

Till 29th December 2020, his condition was as it is.

On 6th February 2021, the patient reported a 30% improvement in his condition. No new lesions had developed, and the old lesions on the axilla, chest, and ankles were better. His relief from the itching was also better.

Till 22nd March 2021, there was a further improvement in his skin condition.

Till 3rd May 2021, the patient’s condition was stable. No new lesions had developed.

On 7th June 2021, the patient reported 1-2 small new lesions in the axilla with itching. Relief from the rest of the complaints was better.

On 31st August 2021, the patient said that he had no active lesions and no itching or burning. His pigmented spots were fading as compared to earlier dark hyperpigmented spots.

From August 2021 to 6th September 2022, the patient reported no active lesions. And he has been in a remission phase now for 6 months. Also, his hyperpigmentation was fading.

The patient was happy that lichen planus was in a remission phase now.

Conclusion:

This case illustrates that homeopathy can treat a chronic autoimmune skin condition of Lichen planus effectively and safely without any side effects.
