Non-suppressive management of chronic urticaria using homeopathy
A 48-year-old male patient named S.G (Patient ID: 41311) visited Life Force, Mulund on 28th Sep 2019 for his urticaria.
He has been suffering from urticaria for 25 years but has progressed since 1 year. His symptoms included papular erythematous eruptions all over his body with intense itching. Along with this, there was swelling of lips & face during episodes. There was a burning sensation after scratching.
He was taking antihistamines for this but there wasn’t much relief.
Associated symptoms-
He was also suffering from frequent colds for which he was taking treatment at Life Force only.
There was a history of diabetes for 5 years which was stable with conventional medicines.
Physical generals:
There was a craving for chicken & fish. He has an aversion to salty food. The patient was thermally chilly.
Personal history:
He was an auditor & was working in HDFC. He was very secretive & spoke whenever it was necessary.
He was bold by nature & faced the problem easily.
Family history:
There was no positive family history present for urticaria in his family.
At lifeforce-
The consultation at Life Force involved a detailed case analysis by Dr. Rajesh Shah. Along with homeopathic medicines, certain dietary changes were advised to support his treatment. Some blood tests were also recommended to investigate any underlying pathology. Dr. Shah initially prescribed homeopathic remedies for two months.
Follow-ups:
The first follow-up was taken on 22nd January 20, in which the patient mentioned that there had been no episodes of urticaria noted for two months. On the basis of his follow up Dr.Shah prescribed him homeopathic medicines for the next two months.
In the next follow up which was taken on 17th April 20 patients mentioned overall 80 percent improvement. There were no severe episodes noted since 3 months. There was mild itching over the legs was present occasionally. Dr shah prescribed medicines for another two months.
On 18th June 20, there was an episode of urticaria with moderate intensity daily for the last 2 months, there wasn’t any specific aggravating factor present. On the basis of this feedback, Dr.Rajesh Shah prescribed medicines for another two months.
In the next follow up which was taken on 29th Oct 20, the patient mentioned that there was overall 70 percent relief & intensity of itching was getting better but still mild itching was present on both legs. After taking into consideration this information Dr.Shah prescribed medicines for the next two months.
In the next follow up which was taken on 14th Jan 21 patient mentioned that there were no episodes of urticaria noted by him. There were no episodes of itching or swelling on the body noted by him. On the basis of his feedback, Dr.Shah prescribed him medicines for another next month.
On 24th Feb 21 patient mentioned that there had been no episodes of urticaria noted in the last 3 months or any episodes of itching or swelling of the face noted by the patient. On the basis of this follow-up, Dr.Shah prescribed medicines for another two months.
In the last follow up which was taken on 3rd June 21 patient was overall better any episodes of urticaria were noted. The patient was very happy with the results.
Conclusion:
This case illustrates that long-standing chronic urticaria can be managed well with our homeopathic treatment.
