Migraine in a Young Boy Treated by Homeopathy
A 7-year-old boy residing in Sanpada, Navi Mumbai (Patient ID: 51663), who had been suffering from migraine for the past 7 years, came for homeopathic treatment at Life Force. The condition had worsened over the last 6 months, with 5–6 episodes during this period, each lasting 1–2 days. These episodes were of moderate intensity and showed a progressively worsening trend.
The migraine episodes are typically preceded by nausea and vomiting. Even a single bite of food or a sip of water would lead to vomiting, and the patient had a complete loss of appetite during the episodes, the complaints were often followed by abdominal pain and 2–3 episodes of loose motions. He also experienced marked drowsiness and fatigue and preferred to sleep alone without interacting with anyone. He could not tolerate loud noises or exposure to sunlight, which aggravated the symptoms further. The headache was occasionally right-sided. Triggers included exertion and consumption of pastries and sweets. He had been receiving symptomatic relief through allopathic medications like Tab. Dolo (BD) and Syrup Ondem (7 ml BD), usually once a month.
Associated complaints- Acidity with similar frequency and intensity as the migraines.
Physical Generals—Included average appetite with cravings for sweets, chocolate, and fish, and aversion to vegetables. Thirst was decreased. Perspiration was profuse and generalized on overall body parts and offensive as well. Thermally, the child was ambithermal. He was LSCS-born and weighed 31.9 kg. Sleep was generally sound but included nightmares and talking during sleep, which was reported by his mother and often related to digital content or youtube he had watched or played.
Personal History—The child was in 2nd standard; his father ran a transport business and his mother was a homemaker.
Mental Generals—He was polite, mild, and gentle in nature. He rarely became angry, and if he did, it was only directed at his grandparents.
Family History—Mother suffered from acidity and migraine. The paternal grandfather had cardiomyopathy, the paternal grandmother had diabetes, and the maternal grandmother had a history of both cancer and migraine.
Past medical treatment—Junior Lanzol 30 mg (OD) for 10 days and Cocozy powder (OD) for 5 days in May.
Based on the detailed case analysis, Dr. Shah initiated individualized homeopathic treatment.
