Long standing recurrent cough cured with homeopathy

A female patient (Patient ID: 47397), residing at Ulwe, Navi Mumbai, came to Life Force Homoeopathy on 13th February 2022, with the complaint of recurrent cough. She had been suffering from the same complaints for the last 5-6 months. The episode of cough usually came every month, 5-6 times, and lasted for 4-5 days. The complaints have been progressing since then. The chief complaint was of recurrent dry cough, along with chest pain, which was aggravated after coughing. The complaints came in a sequence. At the very first, the cough was dry for a few days, and later, expectoration came out, which was of milky white color. The patient always felt the need to hawk to remove the expectoration, and then the throat felt dry. Hoarseness of voice was present after coughing. The patient was taking conventional medicines: Tab. Allegra 120 mg - once/day for the last few months, Syrup Asthalin - thrice/day, and Syrup Grinillictus - twice/day.

Personal History—The patient was a vegetarian, having average meals, and craved sour things, sweets, and paneer, and had average thirst for 4-6 glasses/day. No complaints of bowels, but at times, passed urine involuntarily during coughing. Sleep was disturbed due to a cough. The patient was thermally chilly.

Family History—The patient was a housewife; her husband was working in a shipping company at Uran, Navi Mumbai. Her son was 15 years old, studying in the 10th std. Her father had diabetes mellitus, hypertension, and a hernia. Her paternal grandmother was having a cough and a cold.

Mental Generals—The patient got aggressive very easily if things did not go according to her. The patient was stubborn, and it was difficult to make her understand anything; she was arrogant and easily expressive.

On examination, the chest was clear, and no wheezing was noted. The tongue was moist and clean. Weight – 88 kg, BP – 120/70 mmHg.

Based on all these symptoms, the totality of the patient was formed, on which Dr. Rajesh Shah prescribed the medication.

Follow-ups:

The first follow-up was taken on 25th March 2022, where her complaints were better. The frequency and intensity of cough were reduced, and no pain in the chest was present. Only 2 episodes in one month, and she was not taking any conventional medication.

The second follow-up was taken on 3rd May 2022, where the patient was 60% better. Frequency was significantly reduced to once/month, with no hoarseness of voice and no chest pain.

Her last follow-up was taken on 15th September 2022, where the patient was better by 80%, with an occasional cough in the last month, no chest pain, no hoarseness, and the duration was significantly reduced to 10 minutes only.

Conclusion:

Thus, this case highlights that Dr. Shah’s medicines for recurrent cough again prove that complaints of the patient can be treated gently and healthily by strengthening the immune system and improving overall mental as well as physical health of the affected individual, reducing frequency and intensity as well.
