Homeopathy Restores a Child’s Smile by Healing Asthmatic Bronchitis
On September 21, 2018, Ms. VS (Patient ID: 38029) accompanied her grandmother to the Lifeforce Homeopathy Chembur clinic. Her grandmother has been a Life Force Homeopathy patient for many years. VS, a 2.5-year-old girl, was diagnosed with asthmatic bronchitis in 2017 after experiencing coughing, dyspnea, and wheezing due to a change in the weather, eating cold food, and traveling frequently.
Asthmatic bronchitis is a combination of asthma and bronchitis where the patient develops breathlessness due to a deep dry cough and is dependent on inhalers and anti-allergic tablets.
Every 15 days, Miss V.S. used to have periods of coughing that left her breathless and wheezing. The cough was dry, and she did not have fever or coryza. She needed to take medication, and her cough was managed with a nebulizer, cough syrup, and antihistamine syrup, and occasionally, antibiotics were started during severe episodes.
Physical generals:
She was a cheerful social child but had become irritable and used to scream due to the discomfort and cough. She was a vegetarian with a good appetite, a liking for salty and sweet food, and an aversion to milk.
Had enough water, and used to sweat a lot after playing for a while. No complaints with stools and urination.
She had a family history of respiratory ailments; her father had frequent colds, her grandfather had suffered from tuberculosis, and her grandmother had cancer.
After studying the case, Dr Shah prescribed Tuberculinum 1m and also suggested some dietary changes and tips to be followed for better recovery.
Follow-ups:
In the first follow-up done on 19.10.18, she had 1 episode of cough since starting the homeopathic medication and even the severity was better as she did not develop wheezing, her breathlessness was less with a cough with no requirement of nebulizer or anti-allergic medication was only better with a few days of antibiotics.
Her dry cough episode, which began after being near a firecracker during Diwali, did not go away for a few days during the follow-up on November 29, 2018, but she was able to get over her wheezing and dyspnea. This time, she was not prescribed antibiotics and was simply getting better with homeopathic remedies.
According to her mother''s report in the follow-up on 31.1.19, she had a severe coughing episode on December 18 and was prescribed antibiotics because it was not getting better. She also experienced mild wheezing at night. She has not experienced a coughing episode since the follow-up in January, according to the follow-up on 5.3.19. Despite being exposed to dust and experiencing a change in weather, she recovered significantly. According to the follow-up on 8.5.19, despite consuming all of the trigger foods, there has not been an episode since January 19. She experienced very rare, moderate coughing episodes that went away in 1-2 days without the need for any traditional medications during the next follow-ups. However, she continued treatment until September 2020 to boost her overall immunity and avoid relapse.
Conclusion:
Homeopathy shows good results in respiratory complaints in kids where they are given steroids and immune suppressants, which in turn hamper their normal growth and development, weaken their immune system more, and make them dependent on it.
