Homeopathy Helps Pharmacist Heal Lichen Planus and Manage Stress

Mr. S.P. (Patient ID: 49227) was suffering from dark purplish, round lesions on his body and also white lacy lesions in his mouth. Distressed with it, he decided to start with allopathic treatment. He was treated with steroidal medication. Mr. S.P. wanted a better and safer treatment for his disease, which was diagnosed as lichen planus by the dermatologist. He was petrified and just wanted to get rid of the disease as soon as possible. He was given T. Methotrexate, Beclovax lotion, and Esavasone lotion by the dermatologist, which he had been using for 2-3 months. He was stable when he visited the Chembur clinic of Life Force Homeopathy on 12th Sept 2022. Mr. S.P. had eruptions on the legs, hands, abdomen, groin, and mouth. The eruptions on the skin came with minimal itching and minimal discomfort while eating food.

Mr. S.P. had always lived a stressful life — stress of family, stress about his brother, and financial stress. His father was a farmer who had suffered losses due to the floods that year. His brother had studied M. Tech but was jobless, so the constant stress about finances and the well-being of family members might have triggered this autoimmune disorder. He had even started smoking and drinking due to all this stress but had stopped consciously for the last 2-3 months. On top of that, lichen planus had added more to his stress.

He had a good appetite and liked sweets as well as spicy foods. He had scanty perspiration and no other complaints.

He worked as a pharmacist at Glenmark. Reserved and inexpressive by nature, he liked to keep things to himself as he did not like to hurt people. He had very few friends and practically no one to share his emotions with.

There was no major medical history, except for an appendectomy a few years back. There was a strong family history of diabetes and hypertension.

He was explained in detail about the process of tapering and stopping steroids, as well as the withdrawal symptoms expected during the process. He was given a diet chart along with some blood tests to rule out deficiencies of micronutrients, which play a vital role in the healing process.

Follow-ups

By November 2022, the disease was stable with no new lesions. He continued the same dosage of steroids and had started with Cyclosporin, stating he would stop after completing the 40-day course.

In December 2022, no new lesions were seen; the old lesions remained stable. The patient had stopped all allopathic medication completely.

By March 2023, the eruptions on the skin were healing, while oral lesions were stable, with no improvement observed in them.

In June 2023, 2-3 new lesions were noted in the buccal mucosa and 1-2 new lesions on the hand, while old lesions remained stable. As per the case, the medicines were revised.

In November 2023, his LP lesions were much better and appeared to be healing. No new lesions were observed. Slow recovery was seen in oral lesions as well.

In the next few follow-ups, he recovered about 90-95%, with no new lesions and no flare-ups for the 6-7 months. He is continuing the treatment to avoid relapse or recurrence of the lesions. Happy with the treatment, he also started treatment for his wife. He has also improved in stress management and is now living his life peacefully.

To prevent a recurrence of the lesions, he is still undergoing treatment. Satisfied with the treatment, he also started treatment for his wife. His ability to handle stress has also improved, and he is currently leading a peaceful life.

His skin and oral lesions gradually healed, and he experienced no new flare-ups for many months.
