Freedom from Otitis Media with Homeopathy

Otitis media, also known as a middle ear infection, occurs when bacteria or viruses infect the air-filled space behind the eardrum, leading to inflammation and fluid buildup. If left untreated, otitis media can cause severe complications, including hearing loss, ear damage, and even meningitis or brain abscesses.

Homeopathic treatments aim to boost the body''s natural defenses and promote drainage of the Eustachian tube, helping to reduce the risk of recurrent infections and minimize the need for antibiotics.

CASE STUDY:

A 21-year-old girl (Patient ID: 39875) was consulted at the Life Force Homeopathy on 5th June 2019 with complaints of Otitis Media. 

She had been suffering from otitis media for 7 years. Her complaints were right ear pain, nose block, coryza-thick, white discharges, throat pain, hoarseness of voice, and fever. Her condition used to aggravate in cold climates and cold food and drinks.

During the initial consultation, a comprehensive case history was taken, focusing on physical and mental state.

Physical generals:

The patient had a vegetarian diet; her appetite was average.  She craved spicy food. She was chilly patient constitutionally, and she hardly used to perspire. Her bowels and sleep were satisfactory.

Family History and Background:

Her father was a businessman and was suffering from diabetes and hypertension. Her mother is a homemaker. The patient is studying M.Com.

Mental State:

As a person, she is very quiet, doesn’t react quickly, is patient, has low confidence issues, doesn’t mingle in a crowd, and has a fear of going on stage or while presenting a seminar. She prefers to be alone and doesn’t have many friends. There was strong anticipatory anxiety.

After studying her detailed case history, she was prescribed Silicea by Dr. Shah for her otitis media.

Follow ups:

After 6 weeks of medication, on 17/7/2019, there was a 10% improvement in ear pain, nasal block, and throat pain. The medicines were continued to see further changes. 

On 28.08.2019, some heaviness was felt in the ear. On examination, there was earwax, but complaints of ear pain, fever, and nasal block were better.

On 15.10.2019, she was 50% better, but for the last 2 weeks, there was a sudden catch of cold. As per the case need, medicines were revised.

On 10.12.2019, there was a 90% improvement.

On 29.1.2020, there was continuous improvement seen, with no symptoms.

She expressed his gratitude towards Dr. Shah and the entire Life Force team for their effective treatment of his otitis.

Conclusion:

This case study suggests that homeopathic treatment can be an effective and safe approach for managing otitis media, particularly in patients with recurrent episodes.
