Fast Spreading Lichen Planus Managed with Homeopathy
Lichen Planus comes in the group of Chronic Autoimmune diseases of the skin and mucous membrane, which leads to inflammation of the skin cells, leading to flat, purplish skin lesions that are itchy and can also cause bleeding after scratching. Immunological factors, Stress, certain medications, and trauma may trigger the progress of the disease. Homeopathic treatment seems very effective in this condition, which heals the disease from the inside and slows the immunity of the individual.
Case Study on Lichen Planus:
A 28-year-old male, Mr. S.M. (Patient ID: 48780), visited the Life Force Homeopathy clinic on 27th July 2022 for the presenting complaint of Lichen Planus for 2 months, which had been progressing rapidly. He had a recent history of taking steroids and had stopped 1 week back when he saw us. He presented with crops of papular rash on the skin, purplish brown, with itching and burning all over the body except the face, scalp, genitals, and nails. White lacy lesions were present in the oral cavity on both internal cheeks, with no burning or sensitivity.
After studying the case in detail, Dr. Shah prescribed research-based homeopathic medicines and some diet and regimen advice to the patient.
Follow-ups:
In the first follow-up, taken in August 2022, the complaint was overall 20-30% better. The L.P. eruptions were much better, the itching had reduced, and the spread was also better.
The second follow-up was taken in September 2022, in which the LP was 40% better compared to the last follow-up, but a few new lesions were coming on the body except the face and scalp. The itching was also better. The dryness persisted.
The third follow-up was on 22nd November 2022, when the spread had almost stabilized.
In the follow-up on 21st January 2023, the complaint was reduced by 50% and was stable, but there were some tiny active lesions over the right leg. Oral LP lesions were stable with not much spread.
In the follow-up taken on 18th March 2023, there was a 95% improvement in the complaint. Most of the lesions had healed, with more post-LP hyperpigmentation spots remaining. Oral L.P. lesions were also much better, and burning pain had reduced by 90%. The patient is continuing treatment with Life Force for overall stability.
The patient was thankful to Dr. Shah and the whole Life Force team for treating him and improving his health.
Conclusion:
This case clearly illustrates that homeopathy is highly effective in treating rapidly spreading chronic lichen planus, incredibly and safely without any side effects.
