Drug Free Management of Rheumatoid Arthritis and Thyroid Recovery in a Young Computer Engineer
Mrs. P.P. (Patient ID: 54788), a 29-year-old computer engineer, consulted Life Force Homeopathy in June 2024 for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, which she had been suffering from since August 2020.
Her condition was marked by severe joint pain, stiffness, and swelling affecting multiple joints, including the wrists, fingers, shoulders, knees, and ankles. The most prominent feature was marked morning rigidity lasting 3 to 4 hours, with pain episodes occurring daily, especially early in the morning, after mild exertion, and during the night. She reported dull aching to throbbing pain, occasional warmth over joints, and significant limitations in daily activities due to the persistent discomfort.
She had a mixed diet taken at small intervals, a craving for spicy and sweet food, an aversion to milk, low water intake (1–1.5 L/day), scanty perspiration, was thermally hot, and had sound sleep.
She was emotionally expressive, ambitious, and positive, shaped by a disciplined childhood and well-supported environment, with a harmonious personal and professional life.
Past treatment history—
Previously, she had undergone conventional treatment from 2020 to 2022, including Methotrexate (Folitrax 7.5 mg), Hydroxychloroquine (HCQS 200 mg), Gabapentin with Nortriptyline (Norton GB), and Clonazepam with Propranolol (Naaz Plus). However, she discontinued all medications abruptly in December 2022 due to side effects and remained untreated until seeking homeopathic care.
Past disease history—
She also had a history of pulmonary tuberculosis in 2019 and COVID-19, and in October 2023 she developed hypothyroidism
Based on a detailed case analysis, individualized homeopathic treatment was initiated by Dr. Rajesh Shah.
Follow-ups :
On 18 August 2024, she reported a 10% improvement with reduced morning stiffness and easier movement.
By 6 October 2024, she showed 20–30% betterment with increased joint flexibility.
On 23 November 2024, A temporary flare-up occurred, likely due to the winter season and emotional stress.
By January 2025, her condition had stabilized with a 10–20% reduction in knee swelling and only mild morning stiffness.
On 11 March 2025, she experienced 60–70% relief in pain and stiffness, particularly in knees and fingers, with significant improvement in back pain; the RA factor remained stable at 16.05 IU/mL.
By 26 April 2025, she reported 75% overall improvement with minimal morning stiffness and a significant enhancement in her quality of life.
Additional treatment of Underactive thyroid-
Mrs. PP was diagnosed with underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism) in October 2023 and was initiated on Eltroxin 25 mcg daily. Despite regular use, her TSH levels remained uncontrolled. She started treatment for UAT as well alongside Eltroxin. Within 8 months, her thyroid function normalized. Eltroxin was discontinued in January 2025, and since then, her TSH levels have remained stable without any elevation, indicating sustained improvement and resolution of hypothyroid symptoms.
Conclusion-
This case illustrates the successful use of individualized homeopathic treatment in managing a chronic autoimmune condition like rheumatoid arthritis, especially in a patient who could not tolerate conventional medications. Homeopathy not only addressed her joint pain and inflammation but also helped restore hormonal balance in her thyroid function, allowing for complete withdrawal of thyroid medication. Today, Mrs. P.P. remains active, independent, and significantly better physically, emotionally, and functionally, underscoring the holistic potential of homeopathy in complex, chronic conditions.
