Chronic Constipation in a Female Farmer Treated Effectively
Mrs. M.L. (Patient ID: 54227), an elderly woman, consulted the Life Force Pimpri branch in April 2024 with the primary complaint of chronic constipation, which she had been suffering from since September 2022. During her initial consultation, she described significant difficulty in passing stools, altered bowel movements, and an ineffectual urge to defecate. She experienced prolonged straining for about 20 to 25 minutes and was only able to pass stools twice a week, often with a persistent sensation of incomplete evacuation. These issues were occasionally accompanied by abdominal pain and bloating. She had observed that her symptoms worsened after consuming a gluten-rich diet, milk, and bakery products.
For symptomatic relief, she occasionally took Pet Saffa Churan once or twice a month since 2022.
Her diet consisted of mixed food types with small meals taken at regular intervals. She reported a general craving for spicy foods, sweets, and fruits, along with an aversion to fish. Her daily water intake was around 2 to 3 liters, and she experienced scanty perspiration. Her stools were hard and unsatisfactory, accompanied by considerable straining, though she had no urinary complaints. She had attained menopause at the age of 43 and maintained a regular sleep schedule, preferring to sleep on her back or right side.
On the personal front, Mrs. M.L. was both a homemaker and a farmer, living with her husband, who also worked as a farmer. She had three children—one son serving in the military, another working as a milkman, and a daughter who was happily married. Her early life was stable and happy, but after marriage, she experienced stress and insecurity. However, after the age of 40, she gradually began to feel more emotionally stable and content. At the time of consultation, her primary concern was her health. Emotionally, she presented as a gentle yet confident woman, well-supported by her family and largely at peace with her life circumstances.
After a detailed case analysis, Dr. Rajesh Shah prescribed Calcarea Carbonica 30 along with other individualized homeopathic remedies.
At her first follow-up on May 29, 2024, she reported no significant change in her condition.
Second follow-up on July 28, 2024: she noted a modest improvement of about 10-15%. The time spent straining had decreased to 10 to 15 minutes, and she began passing stools every other day. There was also a noticeable reduction in flatulence.
Significant progress was observed during her third follow-up on November 13, 2024, which was updated by her son. He reported that she had shown an overall improvement of 70-75%. She was now able to pass stools daily, with the straining time reduced to just 5 to 7 minutes. Occasionally, she even passed stools two to three times in a single day. Her bloating and flatulence had reduced significantly, and she had not taken Pet Saffa in the last two months.
A courtesy call was made on March 19, 2025, during which her son informed the clinic that Mrs. M.L. was now completely better, with only occasional episodes of constipation.
Conclusion:
Through consistent homeopathic treatment under the supervision of Dr. Rajesh Shah, Mrs. M.L. experienced substantial and lasting relief from her chronic constipation. Her bowel movements became regular, the need for laxatives ceased, and her overall well-being improved notably.
