Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia Recovery through Homeopathy

Mr. M.G., 57 years old, a resident of Borivali East, bearing Patient ID 54232, and working with Adani Electricity, visited our Borivali branch on April 6, 2024, with concerns about increasing PSA levels. His PSA levels were 7.43 ng/ml. The patient was asymptomatic. He was also a known case of diabetes and hypertension.

It all began in 2019, during a routine health check-up. Mr. M.G., a calm and active man in his late fifties, was diagnosed with Benign Enlargement of the Prostate (BEP). He had no specific symptoms – no pain or discomfort. But the reports revealed something unexpected: Benign Enlargement of the Prostate (BEP). It was a silent condition, discovered purely by chance. Along with it came another finding that raised eyebrows — elevated PSA levels, something that could suggest inflammation or even the potential for something more serious.

Further investigation, including an MRI, pointed toward chronic prostatitis, a long-standing inflammation of the prostate. And as he remained asymptomatic, life moved on.

Mr. M.G. has always been a quiet, thoughtful man — someone who preferred to listen rather than speak, who believed in doing things the right way and expected the same from others. A disciplined, early riser, he found joy in cycling in the fresh morning air, enjoying the stillness before the world fully woke up. He wasn’t flashy or dramatic; his pleasures were simple — watching the news, staying informed, and occasionally unwinding in front of the television.

Though he rarely lost his temper outside, home was a different story. If instructions were not followed or if things didn’t go as he planned, irritation showed. Still, at work, he was a different person altogether — level-headed, calm, and well-liked by his colleagues. His ability to separate personal and professional life made him a respected figure among peers.

The patient followed a balanced and mixed diet, maintaining a good appetite and average thirst, drinking around 1.5 to 2 liters of water daily. He liked spicy food and craved sweets. Fish is his favourite, while he is allergic to crabs. He consumes alcohol once a week, together with family and friends. His bowel and bladder functions were normal, and his menstrual history was unremarkable. Physically, he was averagely built, and he enjoyed sound, uninterrupted sleep.

Mr. M.G. had a pleased and settled family life living in Mumbai. He had a love marriage and had 2 sons. His elder son was married and staying in Australia, whereas the younger one was studying engineering.

From childhood, he had been a happy, pampered child. Naturally talkative, mild-mannered, and polite, he also tended to become easily anxious over small matters.

In terms of his medical history, he had tinea curis and complaints of recurrent cough, which are stable currently. He was also diagnosed with renal calculi, a USG (Rt kidney - 4 mm - lower pole, Left kidney - 4.1 mm, mid calyx), although he is asymptomatic for the same and has not taken any treatment so far.

His family history revealed that his father had coronary heart disease and Diabetes, whereas his mother had Hypertension.

After a thorough evaluation of his case, Dr. Shah carefully considered his symptoms, family history, and personality traits before prescribing Carcinosin 30C — a homeopathic remedy believed to address his ongoing issues of BEP and the related symptoms.

Follow-up

On 23rd May 2024, mild symptoms started showing, like straining to pass urine in the morning, and the urine flow was weak and slow. He came in with constipation with bloating, often needing to strain, and started with Ayurvedic laxatives. He complained of signs of erectile dysfunction, where his erections weren’t lasting as long.

By 4th July 2024, his urine stream became stronger, his stool passed without strain, and his erection quality improved.

By August and September 2024, Mr. M.G.''s condition improved by 40-50%. There was only a slower stream of urine in the morning, and a slight dribbling at the end. Stools were satisfactory, and he even had confidence in his erections. Occasional bloating persisted.

By late November 2024, his complaints had improved by almost 60-70%. The only concern that remained was a slow stream of urine in the morning, which gradually improved during the day. Dribbling towards the end remained, however, they were manageable.

In January 2025, he noted even further improvement, with occasional acidity and bloating present.

In February 2025, his PSA had dropped significantly — from 7.43 to 4.48 ng/ml. An ultrasound confirmed the prostate was only mildly enlarged, measuring 23.5 cc. This was a reassuring sign that inflammation had settled and that more serious conditions were being ruled out.

By April 2025, Mr. M.G. had no new complaints. Just quiet stability.

Conclusion:

This case of asymptomatic Benign Enlargement of the Prostate (BEP) highlights the importance of a holistic approach in homeopathic practice, where treatment is based not solely on pathological findings, but on the individual totality of symptoms and constitution. The patient experienced significant relief through individualized homeopathic treatment within a year. It reaffirms the idea that absence of symptoms does not equal health — a concept well-articulated by Dr. Hahnemann.
