Actor Finds Relief from Chronic Acid Peptic Disease with Homeopathy.
Mr. A.S., a forty-six-year-old actor (Patient ID: 17338), approached the LifeForce Homeopathy Chembur clinic for treatment of his chronic acid peptic disease in 2017.
He had been suffering from gastric ulcers for twenty years. The condition was characterized by constant burning pain in the left hypochondriac region, which he described as "as if there is a wound in my stomach," along with retrosternal burning and nausea with a feeling of vomiting. An endoscopy performed before his consultation revealed ulcers in the duodenum. During childhood and six to seven years back, he had experienced ulcers in the small intestine. A biopsy report was normal.
His condition would recur every six to seven months and last for three to four months. At the time of consultation, he had been in remission for about two to three months. The complaints were aggravated by spicy food and lack of sleep.
Previously, he had been taking antacids.
Along with his primary complaint, the patient had been suffering from arthritis of the knees for five to six years. He experienced occasional stiffness without swelling, which was ameliorated by motion.
Regarding his general symptoms, the patient had an average appetite, craved meat, and had an aversion to sour foods. He consumed alcohol occasionally (3-4 drinks per week) and smoked cigarettes (5-7 per week). He found it difficult to perspire and was chilly by nature. His bowel movements were satisfactory.
The patient was married and an actor by profession. His father was retired, and his mother was a housewife.
Family history revealed that his mother suffered from arthritis of the knees, and his paternal uncle had diabetes mellitus.
No significant history of any major illness was mentioned.
Regarding his mental sphere, the patient was gentle, expressive, and nervous. He was affectionate, attached, irritable, and vexed easily. He experienced anticipatory anxiety, apprehension, worry, and grief. He thought a lot about philosophical matters like life and death. He was described as theoretical, over-analyzing, and dominating. His anger was short-lasting, though he had been violent in the past. He had a fear of death, liked pets a lot, and was sentimental.
In his dreams, he saw himself as heroic, fighting or being followed.
Dr. Shah studied the case in detail and prescribed the homeopathic remedies Lycopodium clavatum 30c and Phosphorus 30c based on the totality of symptoms presented by the patient.
At the follow-up on January 20, 2017, the patient reported a 90% improvement in his acid peptic disease.
Subsequent follow-ups showed sustained improvement throughout the year in 2017
By December 25, 2017, both the acid peptic disease and arthritis symptoms continued to improve.
Through 2019, the patient maintained good improvement, though there was a slight aggravation in September 2019 due to stopping medicines and faulty eating habits. However, he recovered quickly, and by November 19, 2019, his condition was much better.
During 2020, despite the pandemic, the patient continued to improve.
However, by November 2021, he reported a relapse of abdominal pain for two months following stress due to his father''s cancer. And restarted treatment.
Throughout 2022, the patient experienced fluctuations in his condition with abdominal pain and bloating, primarily due to irregularity in taking medicines.
This pattern continued in 2023, with periods of improvement followed by relapses when he would discontinue the medication or have irregular meals, alcohol, or aerated drinks.
By early 2024, the patient had achieved significant stability.
All follow-ups throughout 2024 showed excellent improvement with no significant complaints.
The most recent follow-up, on 31 January 2025, noted optimal improvement, with the patient no longer requiring any antacids.
This case illustrates the efficacy of homeopathic treatment in managing chronic acid peptic disease even after twenty years of suffering, with the patient achieving stable remission and being able to discontinue conventional medication like antacids.
