A case of pharyngitis successfully managed with homeopathy

A 60-year-old male patient, Mr. R.K. (Patient ID: 37209), visited Life Force Homeopathy in Mulund on July 3, 2018, for treatment of his pharyngitis. He was complaining of throat pain, difficulty in swallowing & cough in each episode. He had to take antibiotics for each episode.

He was also complaining of lichen planus on the lower limbs, for which he was taking treatment from Life Force.

Physical generals:  His diet was mainly non-vegetarian. He used to like spicy food. Thermally, he was a hot patient.

Personal history: Professionally, he was an advocate in the High Court. His wife was a housewife. He had one son who was 14 years old.

Family history: There was no positive family history.

Mental generals: He used to get angry at contradictions. There was a presence of anticipatory anxiety before any work. He had very few friends, as he was not very social by nature.

At Life Force: After a thorough case evaluation, Dr. Rajesh Shah devised a comprehensive treatment plan. He was advised on necessary dietary modifications and given supplements to support his health. He was also advised to do a few blood investigations to check the status of his general health. After analysis, he was prescribed two months of homeopathic medicines initially.

Follow-ups:

1st follow-up was taken on 11th August 2018. The patient reported that there has been no recurrence of the episode noted in the past two months. On the basis of this feedback, Dr. Shah prescribed medicines for another two months.

In the next follow-up, which was taken on 20th September 2018, the patient mentioned that there was no occurrence of any episodes. On the basis of this information, Dr. Rajesh Shah prescribed medicines for another two months.

On 17th November 2018, the patient mentioned that there was one episode over the last 8-10 days & he was taking conventional treatment for 5 days & was getting better with it.

In the next follow-up, which was taken on 23rd March 2019, the patient mentioned that there was an acute episode of throat irritation and cough, which lasted for 15 days, and he had taken antibiotics for it. On the basis of this information, Dr. Shah prescribed medicines for another two months.

On 29th June 2019, the patient mentioned that there were no episodes or recurrences noted. Dr. Shah prescribed medicines for another two months.

In the next follow-up, which was taken on 12th October 2019, the patient mentioned that there were no episodes noted. On the basis of this information, Dr. Rajesh Shah prescribed medicines for another two months.

On 2nd December 2019, the patient mentioned that there were no episodes & no discomfort observed by him. On the basis of this information, Dr. Rajesh Shah prescribed medicines for another two months.

In the last follow-up, which was taken on 18th January 2020, the patient mentioned that for the last 7-8 months, there were no episodes noted & he was very happy with the results.

Conclusion -

This case of pharyngitis was successfully managed with individualized homeopathic treatment, which not only provided rapid relief from symptoms such as throat pain, irritation, cough & difficulty in swallowing but also helped in preventing recurrence. This highlights the effectiveness of homeopathy in treating chronic inflammatory conditions like pharyngitis by addressing the underlying susceptibility & enhancing the body’s natural healing response.
