A Teen’s Recovery from Frequent Colds Through Homeopathy

Mr. S.W. (Patient ID: 52442), a 16-year-old male, visited Life Force Homeopathy Pimpri branch in September 2023 with a troubling history of frequent cold episodes persisting for over a year. His chief complaints included a runny nose, nasal blockage, productive cough, and occasional fever. These episodes occurred every 1.5 to 2 months, each lasting 10–15 days, significantly impacting his daily life.

At the time of consultation, he had been experiencing an active episode for the past week, characterized by watery nasal discharge (more during the day), nasal congestion in the evening, and a productive cough with whitish expectoration, especially while talking. Although fever was not present in the current episode, it had been part of past episodes. The patient was reliant on conventional medicines, including antibiotics, antihistamines (Tab. Allegra 120), and cough syrups, during each episode.

His parents were concerned not only about the recurrence but also about the slow recovery and drug dependency.

Mr. S.W. comes from a nuclear family, with a cordial and supportive relationship with his parents. He is a vegetarian, with an average appetite, good water intake (8–10 glasses/day), and no bowel or urinary complaints. He is described as silent, confident, sincere, and polite, and is good in academics. He aspires to become an engineer.

There was no major history of ailments or surgeries.

Based on the chronicity, nature of the episodes, triggering factors (dust, travel), and personality traits, Dr. Rajesh Shah had prescribed Tuberculinum 1M and other homeopathic medicines.

Follow-ups:

During the 1st follow-up on 21st October 2023, the patient’s mother updated: Patient had 1 mild episode after starting treatment; however, the intensity and duration were notably reduced.

15th December 2023: Remarkable improvement with 40–50% reduction in symptoms. No new episode in the last 1.5 months. He felt more active and fresh.

27th January 2024: Ailments remained 50% better and stable.

14th March 2024: Further 60% improvement noted. No episode in the last 2–3 months.

25th April 2024: Two mild episodes occurred within 1.5 months, each lasting just 3–4 days, without fever. Triggers included travel and dust. Managed with short-term use of Allegra.

08TH June 2024: Continued improvement. No new episodes. Duration and frequency of ailments were further reduced.

24th July 2024: 70% overall improvement. No major episodes of cough and coryza since December 2023.

On subsequent follow-ups from 19th September 2024 to 11th May 2025, the Patient''s mother reported stable health with no recurrence.

24th June 2025: Remained symptom-free, with no signs of frequent cold, cough, or nasal blockage in the last 3–4 follow-ups.

Last follow-up taken on 18th July 2025:One mild episode of dry cough due to a throat infection, which lasted a week and was managed with conventional treatment. No breathing issues or nasal symptoms reported.

Conclusion:

With consistent and individualized homeopathic treatment, Mr. S.W. achieved over 85–90% improvement in his recurrent cold episodes. He has remained symptom-free since June 2024, with no dependency on conventional medications. His general health, immunity, and confidence also improved, enabling him to focus better on his academics and long-term goals.
