A Charming 27 Year Old Man Overcame Lichen Planus With Homeopathy At Life Force
Mr. A.J., a 27-year-old young and handsome male, bearing (Patient ID: 47408), visited our Borivali clinic on 15th February 2022. He presented with complaints of skin lichen planus (LP), marked by coalesced lesions on the left ankle and iliac region, along with a purplish lesion on the buccal mucosa and hyperpigmentation. These symptoms had been present since July 2021. He had previously undergone conventional treatment, including antifungal medications, for 34 months without any improvement. His primary concern was the progressive spread of the disease. Additionally, he had a history of elevated uric acid levels since 2018, for which he had recently started taking Tab. Febustat 40 mg. He also reported complaints of foamy urine and occasional burning during urination. For these symptoms, he began treatment at Life Force, which resolved his complaints within 12 to 14 months.
He follows a vegetarian diet, has a good appetite, and craves sweets. His thirst is adequate, and his bowel and bladder habits are regular. He enjoys sound sleep.
In terms of family history, both his mother and maternal grandmother suffer from hypertension.
Mr. A.J. was born and brought up in Mumbai. He is a single child, very pampered, and has received strong emotional support from his family. He is currently managing his family’s gold shop business. By nature, he is calm, polite, and happy-go-lucky; however, he has recently become irritable due to his ongoing health complaints. He enjoys watching thriller movies in his leisure time.
After a thorough evaluation of his case, Dr. Shah carefully considered his symptoms, family history, and personality traits before prescribing Lachesis 30 and Medorrhinum 30—a homeopathic remedy to address both his disease condition.
FOLLOW-UPS:
- In the first follow-up on 29/03/2022, lesions appeared flatter compared to before, and itching had reduced in intensity. However, a small new lesion developed on the left forearm.
- In the subsequent follow-ups in May and June 2022, no significant improvement was observed.
- On 03/08/2022, three new lesions were noted in the private area, possibly triggered by stress. These lesions began fading on their own without intervention.
- Follow-ups in September and October 2022 showed a mixed response. While older lesions continued to improve, new lesions developed in some areas.
- In the following months, the patient showed consistent improvement, with only one or two tiny lesions occasionally appearing, mostly stress-related.
- In the follow-up on 25/01/2023, lesions had further flattened on the feet, ankles, and elbows. Pigmentation had improved over the waist and forehead. Two to three tiny, asymptomatic new lesions were observed on the right foot, with no known aggravating factors.
- From March to June 2023, the patient showed steady and continuous improvement.
- In July 2023, the patient contracted dengue, which slightly aggravated his skin condition in the following month. However, the symptoms settled quickly.
- Since then, no new lesions have developed, and the patient has been regularly taking medications to address post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH).
- As of now, post-inflammatory marks have faded by approximately 75–80%.
Conclusion:
This case beautifully illustrates the wonders of homeopathy in managing a chronic and challenging condition like lichen planus, alongside metabolic imbalances. Despite the rarity and persistence of his symptoms, the patient experienced significant and sustained improvement through individualized homeopathic treatment, underscoring the potential of this holistic approach in difficult cases.
