A 4-Year-Old’s Vitiligo Recovery with Homeopathy
The parents of Mast. A.S. from Gurgaon, Haryana, through their online Google search, came to know about Life Force Homeopathy. They were desperately looking for treatment for their 4-year-old son, who was suffering from vitiligo. They shared the photos of the affected area of the child with the Life Force team and discussed the case over a call. On call, the proper guidance was given to parents with the scope, prognosis, and duration of treatment for their son’s vitiligo. They started online treatment under Dr. Shah’s care on 24th October 2018 (Patient ID: 38347). He had a hypopigmented patch on the left corner of his mouth and on the left side of his chin, which was approximately about 3 cm. The patch in the last 4 months was spreading gradually. The patient has been taking some Ayurvedic churn and some ointment for the last 2 months. Also in the past, he was treated with tacrolimus ointment and clotrimazole + beclomethasone + neomycin sulfate ointment.
Physical Generals:
His appetite was average. He was vegetarian and liked sweets and sour foods and drinks. His thirst was average, and he drank around 1 liter/day. Thermally, the patient was chilly. His bowels and urine were normal.
Personal History:
Patient was studying in nursery. His father is working as a manager in Health Sprain Healthcare, and his mother was a housewife. He also has a 10-month-old younger brother.
Mental generals:
The child was quite restless but was always jolly at times and got irritated when things did not happen as per his wish.
Family History:
The patient''''s father had an underactive thyroid; also, the grandmother (paternal) had an underactive thyroid.
Based on his case details and the location and extent of the patches, also considering the totality of symptoms of the patient, Dr. Rajesh Shah has prescribed PHOSPHOROUS-30
Follow-ups:
During his first follow-up, dated 20th Dec 2018, the spread of the existing patch was noticed since the parents had stopped using steroid ointment; however, no new patches were noted.
Second, a follow-up was taken on 21st Feb 2019; the patch was stable with no further spread, and no new patches were noted.
By the third follow-up, which was taken on 25th April 2019, the hypopigmented patch was getting better, and the size of the patch was getting slightly reduced.
On 20th August 2019, the patient was 75-80% better; the good pigmentation was seen in the patch.
On 4th March 2020, significant improvement was seen in old spots, but one mild new spot was noted on the right cheek, which was approximately 1 cm.
On December 3, 2020, the patient''''s father commented that the spot appeared brighter, possibly because they had spent a few days in the village.
At his next follow-up on August 12, 2021, the patient was much better than before, with no spread or new spots noted, old spots were improving, and 80% repigmentation was seen.
The patch was dull and repigmented overall at the last follow-up, which was conducted on November 17, 2022, when the patient was 90% better. There was no new spot or spread, and the hypopigmented patch was nearly gone.
Conclusion:
The gradual but steady improvement illustrates homeopathy''''s long-term advantages. This recovery serves as hope for others struggling with vitiligo. Phosphorus 30 played a vital role in promoting repigmentation. Early intervention helped prevent extensive spread of the patches and significant recovery in his vitiligo.
