78 Year old man from Assam got 100% relief in Neurogenic bladder by Homeopathy in just 4 months.

A retired person (Patient ID: 57321) of age 78 years residing in Guwahati, Assam, approached the Life Force Homeopathy Bangalore branch on 2nd April 2025 for his neurogenic bladder issue, which he had been suffering from for 6-7 months. He was presented with symptoms like difficulty in passing urine, a feeling of fullness of the urinary bladder, a need to strain to urinate, and an incomplete evacuation feeling even after passing urine. And when approached, Life Force was on a Foley''s catheter for 3 weeks and on allopathic medicines.

What is a neurogenic bladder?

Neurogenic bladder is a condition that happens when the nerves that help control the bladder get damaged or don’t work properly. This can make it hard for someone to hold in urine or to go to the bathroom when they need to. It can be caused by different health issues like multiple sclerosis, injuries to the spine, strokes, or problems from diabetes. People with neurogenic bladder might have trouble like leaking urine, feeling like they need to go all the time, or not being able to empty their bladder, which can lead to infections. To figure out if someone has this condition, doctors often do tests that check how well the bladder is working. Treating a neurogenic bladder can involve different approaches, like using catheters to help with urination, taking medicine to help the bladder hold more urine or to stop it from squeezing too much, and sometimes even surgery. Catching this condition early and getting the right treatment can really help people feel better and avoid more serious problems.

Patient history:

He had a stroke attack and hemiplegia 2 years back and was slowly recovering. He had issues with hypertension, and for the same reason, he was on antihypertensive medicines daily. He was on stroke recovery medicines also. His food habits were mixed, with both vegetarian and non-vegetarian foods, including eggs. No specific cravings, aversions, or addictions. His thirst was average, and sweating also seemed to be normal and generalized. He was constipated sometimes. Used to have disturbed sleep.

The case was studied in detail by Dr. Rajesh Shah, and suitable constitutional homeopathic medicines were prescribed. Dr. Shah prescribed Thuja occidentalis for the condition.

Homeopathic approach:

Homeopathy is a type of treatment that some people use for a condition called neurogenic bladder. This condition makes it hard for someone to control their bladder, often because of issues with their nervous system. Homeopathic doctors look closely at each person’s symptoms, feelings, and overall health to find the best natural remedies for them. For example, they might use a remedy called Cantharis, which can help with bladder spasms, or Seneccio aureus, which might help if someone has trouble holding in their urine. Another remedy, Equisetum hyemale, can help with accidents that happen when someone doesn’t mean to go. Homeopathy doesn’t just focus on fixing physical problems; it also aims to improve how someone feels mentally and help them live better overall.

Follow-ups:

The first dose of medicine was prescribed on 2nd April 2025, which was for two months. He felt much better with medicines; his urinary catheter was removed on 21st April, and he was much better with passing urine now, and the strain was also reduced.

After 2 months of completing medicines, he felt 70-80% better. A urinary catheter was not used, and he was able to pass urine normally. Straining to pass urine also reduced to 80%. There was no significant residual urine in the scan reports.

After 4 months of treatment, he was 100% relieved. He was extremely happy and thankful to Dr. Rajesh Shah and the entire Life Force team for the treatment and services provided.

Conclusion:

Homeopathy presents a unique therapeutic approach for managing neurogenic bladder, a condition often resulting from neurological disorders that disrupt normal bladder function. The scope of homeopathy in treating this condition lies in its holistic focus on individualized patient care, emphasizing constitutional remedies that consider both the physical symptoms and the psychological dimensions of the disorder. Homeopathic treatments aim to restore balance to the autonomic nervous system, potentially alleviating symptoms such as urgency, frequency, and incontinence. This case clearly shows the good scope of homeopathy in treating difficult cases.
