Mr.R.N, age fifty-six years, had started online treatment in September 2011, for Prostatitis with grade 2 prostate enlargement with 40 ml post void residue since 3 years. He had recurrent urinary tract infections. There was burning urination and delayed emptying of urine. There was a history of acidity in the past. He was a known case of Diabetes and Hypertension and was on medication.
His appetite was average. There was craving towards sweets, non-vegetarian food. The thirst was average. He was more tolerant to cold compared to warmth. He had burning micturition on and off. His sleep was normal. His bowels were satisfactory.
He was a senior scientist in a Government department and his wife was a housewife. His two sons were software professionals.
His mother was Diabetic.
There were complaints of acidity in the past and he used antacids for it.
He was a happy person with no stress. He got easily provoked but had good control over his emotions. He suppressed his anger and was very diligent.
Dr. Shah elaborately analyzed the case, taking into account every detail of the patient and prescribed constitutional medicines to the patient.
He gave his first follow up in November 2011 and there was 30% improvement. The frequency of urination had reduced. The urination was slightly painful. Bladder evacuation was better. The urgency to urinate had reduced remarkably.
The next follow up was taken six months after he came up with 50-60% improvement. The pain while urinating had reduced. The urge to urinate was also controlled.
The follow taken six months from then stated that now the frequency had become once in four hours, he took PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) test, which was 1.2. He reported that pain while urinating had slightly aggravated since a week.
The six months later follow up showed 75 % improvement, the frequency had reduced to one to two times at night.
In his next follow up after six months he showed 85% improvement, the frequency was two times at night and four times in the day. He said that he underwent surgery for an ingrown toenail.
The follow up taken in April 2014 stated that the urine flow was absolutely normal, the frequency was the same.
The feedback given in October 2014 stated that the frequency had reduced, there was a reduction in the strain, free flow of urine and very mild pain existed.
The follow-up given six months later, he reported that there was 85% improvement. There was slight difficulty at the end of the passage of urine.
The follow up in the month of October 2015 stated that the frequency was stabilized and the strain was reduced remarkably. The PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) test report suggested the value as 1.44 ng/ml, prostate size is 3.8x3.4x3.4, the volume was 24 cc.
The next follow up in March 2016, the improvement was as before and there was a mild pain in the prostate and burning after urination for three to five minutes since a week.
In July 2016, there was 90% improvement, the intensity of pain had reduced, PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) was 1.05 ng/dl.
The follow up in Sept 2016, the improvement is status quo, the pain is reduced. He mentioned that this set of medicines worked well for him.
Being a condition wherein the reversibility is very meager, the progress shown by the Mr.R.N is remarkable with the constitutional Homoeopathic remedies advocated him based on his feedback and he is continuing the medicine to stabilize the condition. Homoeopathy is truly beneficial in conditions where there is the generalized well-being of the person and the life of the person becomes better.
