A 37-years-old male, Mr. D.N.D. (PIN: 23121) consulted at Life Force for his lichen planus on the 12th of July 2014. He was suffering from lichen planus for 14 years. He had lichen planus since childhood, but, initially, he was never bothered about it. He had taken the treatment for six years so his condition was under control. But, his disease had relapsed since January 2014. It was progressing gradually. On his first visit, his arms, forehead, abdomen, back, sole, and both the legs were affected. The itching was very severe. He was taking some conventional and Ayurvedic medicine for one month, but he was not getting any significant results. His itching used to increase prominently in the evening. His disease used to get triggered due to winter and stress. Besides lichen planus, he was suffering from frequent cold, acidity, piles, and hair fall. He was not taking any medicines for it.
He had fair skin and an average build. He was vegetarian by diet. He liked spicy food. There was no specific disliking. His thirst was less, and his perspiration was also less than average. His bowel movement was irregular. His stool was hard and dis-satisfactory. His sleep was sound. He was doing a job as a clerk in a co-operative society. His wife was a homemaker. He has two daughters, one was 5 years old & the second was 2 years old. His father was a retired person, and his mother was also a homemaker. His brother had a laundry business.
The patient had scabies in his past medical history. In his family, his father and paternal grandfather both were suffering from diabetes. Except for this, there was no other medical complaint in his family. Dr. Shah studied his case in detail and prescribed him a research-based molecule.
On 15th September 2014, when he gave his first follow-up, his relief from the complaints had started to show improvement. All his spots had improved by 30%. As far as his frequent cold complaint was concerned, his condition had improved by more than 50%. His relief from acidity was 5% improved. A few months later on 7th February 2015, when the patient gave his follow-up, his recovery from lichen planus had improved a lot. His relief from the symptoms was 60% improved. Also, his itching had reduced. No new spots had appeared. His relief from frequent cold complaints was also improved by 75%. His relief from acidity was 30% improved.
A few months later on 10th October 2015, he visited at the center and informed that no new spots had appeared, but his old spots, which were aggravating for a few months, were under control. The spots on his forehead and soles were totally cured. His other complaints were under control. After a few months, on 4th August 2016, he gave his follow up. His recovery from the old spots had improved, but some new eruptions had appeared on his back and hands from 15 days. The eruptions on his abdomen, wrist, & thumb were totally cured. His other complaints, such as frequent cold and acidity both, were showing a good improvement in terms of recovery.
On 16th March 2017, he informed that his previous eruptions due to the disease were improving, but some new spots still appeared on his legs and stomach from the last 8-10 days. His recovery from the other complaints was also improved by more than 80%. As per his condition, Dr. Shah did the required changes in medicine. A few months later on 5th October 2017, he gave his feedback. His condition was under control. No new eruptions had appeared. His old eruptions were in a good state. His complaints of frequent cold and piles were cured. His recovery from acidity had also improved by 80%, it occurred only after eating outside food.
On 5th April 2018, the patient informed about his condition. His recovery from lichen planus had improved a lot. The itching was absent. No new eruptions had appeared. Only hyperpigmentation due to lichen planus spots was left. All his spots were in an inactive form. Overall, his condition had improved by more than 85%. He was not facing any complaint except hair fall. On 4th August 2018, he gave his feedback. This time, his condition was almost cured. Only dull hyperpigmented spots were remaining. No active eruptions were present, and no itching was present. His frequent cold and piles were also cured completely. The patient was suffering from lichen planus since childhood, so, after experiencing a complete recovery from it, he was very happy.
As the patient got recovered completely, he was advised to stop the medicine.
This case highlights that homeopathy is highly effective in treating lichen planus successfully and safely without any side-effects. This case illustrates that such type of stubborn & obstinate case of lichen planus is also cured completely with homeopathy.
