Osteoarthritis is one of the types of arthritis that results due to degeneration and eventually a loss of the cartilage of joints. Cartilage is a tissue that covers the inside of the joints and acts as a cushion between the two bones forming a joint. When the cartilage starts undergoing degeneration, the bone becomes inflamed as its protective covering is lost. This causes pain during activities such as standing, walking, etc.

Homeopathic medicines, if chosen well, can reduce pain and improve mobility.

Here is one such case of a lady patient suffering from osteoarthritis who found relief with homeopathy.

A 55-year-old female (PIN: 47846) visited our Life Force clinic with a complaint of pain in her knee joint. She complained of pain in the right knee joint for the last 2 months. She was experiencing difficulty in lifting her legs while walking. The swelling and stiffness were also present in the joint. She was also experiencing severe pain on walking for a long time while climbing stairs, and while folding the knee joint. She was taking painkillers daily for the past 15-20 days as the pain was very severe. She started treatment from us on 7^th April 2022. A detailed case history of the patient was taken into consideration.

Physical Generals:

The patient’s appetite was average. She had no specific desire for any specific food or drink. Her thirst was adequate and her sleep was sound.

Psychological Make-Up:

The patient was a social worker. She used to teach underprivileged children. Her husband was in IT. She was very mild and gentle. She always loved to help others. The patient had no stress or anxiety present in her life.

Self and Family’s Medical History:

She never had any major illnesses in the past. Also, there were no illnesses in her family.

At Life Force:

After studying the case in detail, Dr. Shah prescribed some of his research-based homeopathic medicines to the patient. She was also prescribed vitamin supplements along with the medicines.

Follow-Ups:

On 4^th May 2022, the patient reported that she was a little better with the medicines. Her relief from the pain was a little better. The swelling and stiffness were still present in the knee joint. She still had difficulty walking and climbing the stairs. Based on this feedback, Dr. Shah prescribed further medicines to the patient.

On 27^th July 2022, the patient reported being much better with the medicines. There was almost a 50% improvement noticed by the patient. The pain was reduced by almost 50%. The stiffness and swelling were also less than before. She could walk for a longer duration now. She still had a little difficulty in climbing the stairs and crossing her knees; but, overall, she was much better with the medicines.

On 17^th September 2022, the patient reported that she was further better with the medicines. The pain had almost vanished. She could do her day-to-day activity easily. She could walk long distances and she could climb more than 100 steps in a day. She had stopped taking all painkiller medicines; and, now, she was only on Homeopathy.

On 1^st November, the patient updated being 90% to 95% better. The pain was no longer present. She could easily walk now. She could bend her knees and climb stairs without any difficulty. There was no swelling or stiffness noticed in her knee joint. She was very happy with the results.

The patient thanked Dr. Shah and the whole Life Force team for treating her and improving her relief from the painful condition.

Conclusion:

This case illustrates that homeopathy can improve relief from osteoarthritis incredibly and safely without any side effects. It also helps improve the mobility and quality of life of osteoarthritis sufferers.
