Successful Treatment of Adult-Onset Respiratory Papillomatosis with Homeopathy
A 35-year-5-month-old male registered at Life Force Homeopathy Clinic (Pimpri) in April 2024 (Patient ID: 54229) for respiratory papillomatosis. His main complaint was hoarseness of voice, which had started in 2020. He was diagnosed by a doctor at AIIMS. It was noted that he had been regularly consuming alcohol before the symptoms began. One day, he suddenly woke up with a hoarse voice. His voice got worse after talking and felt better when he rested his voice or did gargles. He had no complaints of long-term cough, breathing difficulty, or noisy breathing (stridor). He had taken conventional treatment between 2020 and 2021, but details of that treatment are not available. When he came to Life Force for treatment, he was not taking any medicines.
Physical Generals: The patient is having a mixed diet. Was having alcohol consumption of 180–200 mL/week, with intake of water of 3–3.5 liters per day. Thermally, the patient was hot, with satisfactory bowel and urinary symptoms.
Family Background: The family comprises 5 people: himself, his wife, and his parents. He has a degree of B.Tech and has an educated family background—both his parents and sister are in government jobs. He is working in a private company. And he belongs to an upper-middle-class family.
Mental Generals: He feels guilty about not being able to crack UPSC exams, as all his family members are government officials. Since the patient has developed hoarseness of voice, he feels underconfident.
Past History: The patient has had sinusitis since childhood and has had two surgeries for the same. 2 endoscopic sinus surgeries.
Investigations: Basic blood investigations done on 26/12/24 were within the normal range.
Investigations done on 29/5/25 were updated in the case file. As Vitamin B12 and Vitamin D were low, supplements and diet were adviced for the same.
His case was studied in detail, and as per the case need, Dr. Rajesh Shah prescribed the medicines individually specific to him.
Follow-ups:
First Follow-up (17/05/2024):
Hoarseness increased to the point that he could not talk at all. Barely able to talk, with a lot of effort—and that too, 1–2 lines after a lot of tries. He was advised to gargle, and the next course of medicines was prescribed as per case need.
Second Follow-up (19/06/2024):
Improvement in the hoarseness of voice was noted, but the voice was still hoarse in the morning after waking up, and then it gradually got better. He can talk now but has to make an effort.
Third Follow-up (13/08/2024):
He can talk now with ease, but not for more than 10 minutes. Hoarseness increases after talking for more than 10 minutes.
Fourth Follow-up (10/11/2024):
No further improvement was noticed after the last follow-up. The hoarseness of the voice was stable. Difficulty in swallowing was occasionally present.
Fifth Follow-up (12/01/2025):
The fifth follow-up was taken on the call. Symptoms of pain in the throat while swallowing were better than at the last follow-up. The intensity of pain while swallowing was reduced. Hoarseness of voice was also slightly better. No other new symptoms were present.
Sixth Follow-up (19/03/2025): Overall improvement in hoarseness of voice was noticed in 10 months. Pain in the throat while swallowing had been absent for 1 month. No snoring or any breathing difficulty.
Last Follow-up (27/05/2025): The hoarseness of voice was improved significantly. Mild pain while swallowing solid food on the left side of the throat, but it was bearable. No allopathic medication taken. He was stable and was doing much better.
Conclusion:
The above case shows the effectiveness of homeopathic medicine in the treatment of respiratory papillomatosis. Homeopathy treats the person by giving a constitutional treatment based on individualization. Proper administration of the indicated constitutional remedy facilitates rapid, gentle, and permanent restoration of health—that is, cure.
