Homeopathy Achieves Complete Hair Regrowth in Woman with Multiple Alopecia Areata Patches
A 27-year-old woman with multiple large, round alopecia areata patches experienced rapid spread and hair loss for a year. Conventional corticosteroids provided limited relief. She came with recent history of patchy baldness since 3 months which presented as multiple big round bald patches on scalp which were spreading rapidly. She also complained of hair loss since 1 year.She had started with corticosteroids orally and locally since 1 month which had slowed down the pace of spread. Once while surfing she came across the side effects of corticosteroids and decided to look for alternative medicines.
After studying the case in details Dr. Rajesh Shah prescribed her a constitutional as well as our researched based medicines.
At the 2 months follow up (Feb 2010) Miss L.J reported spread has stopped and there were no new patch since a month. The existing patches were as it is. She developed hope of recovery but was very anxious. Dr Shah counselled her explained the disease process.
At the 6-month follow-up, (July 2010) Miss L.J reported that all the patches on scalp had shown complete re growth. She was happy and surprised to see her comparative photos. Although her complaint of hair loss was 50% better. She was advised to continue the medicines for another 4 months.
Thereafter she did not give follow ups. She visited us in March 2012 with complaint of small patch of alopecia on scalp since 2 months.
