Case Study

A 31-year-old female patient (PIN: 49155) approached Life Force Homeopathy, Jayanagar Branch on 3rd September 2022 for the treatment of her complaints of allergic rhinitis that with she was suffering from for 4 years. She presented with symptoms such as continuous bouts of sneezing in the early morning and midnight. She also had a nose blockage at night. The itching of eyes and palate was bothering her.

She was getting severe episodes once a week. Severe episodes would last for 1-2 days. Her complaints mostly used to get aggravated due to dust. She was on Allegra 120mg (antihistamine) weekly once in the last 1.5 years.

 Her family history was also asked about and updated.A detailed case history was taken by considering her mental and physical generals.

Physical Generals

The patient was a non-vegetarian and had an average appetite. She had increased thirst and drank about 3-4 liters of water daily. She was experiencing average perspiration and couldn’t tolerate extreme winters.  Her bowels were satisfactory, and she had no urinary symptoms. She had a disturbed sleep. She had a regular menstrual cycle and had no major menstrual symptoms as such.

Her physical examination was done and her weight was checked and updated. 

Mental Generals

Her mental symptoms were also taken into consideration. The patient had a very happy childhood and a very supportive family. She was an ambitious lady, particularly regarding her job. Although she liked socializing, she was a family person and liked to spend quality time with her family.

The patient experienced increased irritability, particularly during her allergic complaints.  She liked writing and drawing, particularly comics and painting. Dr. Shah evaluated the whole case and prescribed medicines to the patient accordingly. The patient was also advised to follow a diet chart of allergic rhinitis and that was given to her.

Follow-Ups

Her first follow-up was taken on 31st October 2022. The patient was 15% to 20% better in her relief from the complaints and had completely stopped using antihistamines for 1.5 months. She had no severe episodes of allergic symptoms after starting with the homeopathic treatment at Life Force. 

By 28th December 2022, the patient was better by 40% to 50%. Her relief from sneezing and nose blockage, which were symptoms disturbing her at night, was much better.
