Homeopathic Management of Lichen Planus Leading to 90% Improvement in Patient

This page details the successful homeopathic treatment of a 40-year-old IT professional suffering from lichen planus, with white oral lesions, skin hyperpigmentation, and burning sensations. Despite steroid use previously, the patient showed progressive improvement with Carboneum Sulphuricum, achieving 90% overall recovery. Readers will learn how consistent homeopathic care reduced lesions, flare-ups, irritation, and addressed the root cause over nearly two years.

A 40-year-old male patient, Mr. MKA (Patient ID: 49098), visited Life Force’s Malleswaram clinic on 30 August 2022 with complaints of lichen planus. He had been suffering from the condition for the past year. The reported symptoms included white, lacy lesions on the buccal mucosa, which were spreading slowly. In addition, the patient experienced mild irritation, burning, and hyperpigmentation on his forehead. He had been on Kenacort steroid treatment.

There was a strong family history of lichen planus, as both his mother and younger brother suffered from the same condition.

Physical Generals

The patient follows a mixed diet and often craves chicken. His appetite is average, and he has no addictions. His sleep pattern and bowel movements are satisfactory.

Family History and Background

The patient is married and works in the IT profession. He lives with his parents and wife.

Mental Generals

On observation, the patient appeared mild, confident, and polite in speech. He mentioned that he never expresses his anger.

After reviewing his detailed case history, Dr. Shah prescribed the constitutional medicine Carboneum Sulphuricum.
