An 8-year-old boy, Mast. S.K.K. (PIN: 32351) visited Life Force Homeopathy Clinic for his complaints of Urticaria on 4th June 2017.
The patient complained of Urticaria from 8 months. He used to experience swelling over his face, on the lips, and both the hands. The patient experienced papular erythematous rashes all over his body. He was experiencing severe itching with burning over the affected area. His complaints used to increase after exposure to the sun or after eating cold and sour foods. The rashes used to appear almost every time after an episode of fever. His relief from the complaints used to get better after applying the ice. The patient had taken both homeopathy and conventional medicines but had only temporary relief.
Also, he complained of Nocturnal Enuresis from 1 year. He used to involuntarily wet his bed once in a week.
The patient's father also suffered from some skin disease, and his maternal grandfather had diabetes.
The patient had a mixed diet and had a craving for chicken and fish. He disliked vegetables. The patient experienced profuse perspiration over his face.
The patient had a younger brother. By nature, the patient used to get angry easily if anyone would contradict him. He was also attached to everyone in the family.
After going through his case history in detail, Dr. Rajesh Shah prescribed him research-based medicines for 6 weeks
First follow up
In the first follow-up on 13th July 2017, the patient was almost 50% better. He had experienced 1 episode of urticaria but the intensity of itching was very mild. The swelling had also reduced. He was prescribed again for 6 weeks.
Second follow up
On 11th October 2017, the patient was 80% better. He did not experience any major episodes of urticaria. The patient took the medicines regularly and also followed the recommended diet well.
Third follow up
After one year of homeopathic treatment, he was 90% better. There were minor episodes in between that were aggravated after an episode of fever, and they subsided on its own.
Fourth follow up
When the patient last reported on 27th June 2019, he was 100% better. He had experienced no episodes of urticaria in the last 6 months.
His relief from the complaint of nocturnal enuresis was also better.
The patient did not require to take any conventional treatment later.
Conclusion:
This case illustrates that homeopathy works wonderfully even in treating severe cases of Urticaria and reduces the need and dependency on conventional medicines. Homeopathy is safe for children as it does not cause any side-effects.
