A 24-year-old male patient (PIN: 39404) visited the Sassoon Branch of Life Force Homeopathy Clinic on 18th February 2019 for his complaints of urticaria.
The patient complained of severe urticaria with angioedema which was affecting him since his childhood. In between, his relief from the complaints was better, but his complaints recurred again with aggravation since 2008.
Papular erythematous eruptions were present all over his body with intense itching and burning in the urticaria-affected areas. These episodes used to last for 1-2 weeks even after taking conventional medicines. Dermatographism was positive. The patient also used to experience angioedema.
His complaints used to aggravate due to irregular diet, on eating tamarind and brinjal, and due to stress and the weather change.
He had to take steroids and antihistamines whenever he used to suffer from these episodes, and they would give him some relief.
The patient also suffered from acidity, frequent episodes of cough, and sleeplessness.
The patient was a non-vegetarian and craved non-veg food and sweets. He was thermally chilly and did not perspire much.
The patient was working and had night shifts. Due to poor sleep and poor eating patterns, his complaints of acidity and urticaria increased.
The patient had a troubled childhood due to parental conflicts. Due to this, he did not like staying with his parents. The patient had financial stress, as he did not have a job. His complaints aggravated during that period.
The patient by appearance was very lean and thin. He used to feel bad when anyone would tease him. He was quite image-conscious and used to dress in a way to impress others. He liked interacting with people and traveling.
After studying his case in detail, Dr. Shah prescribed him research-based molecules for 6 weeks on 21st February 2019.
First follow up
In the first follow-up on 29th March 2019, the patient had experienced an increase in his complaints as he had stopped the steroid medications. Dr. Shah prescribed him Apil mel for 6 weeks.
Second follow up
In the subsequent follow-ups, his relief from the complaints was 30% better. Again, homeopathic medicines were prescribed to him for two months. His complaints of acidity were also reducing gradually.
Third follow up
In the last follow-up given on 28th June 2019, his relief from Urticaria was 80% better. He no more experienced severe episodes of urticaria nor angioedema. His relief from acidity also was much better.
The patient was very satisfied with the treatment as he was also able to taper off the steroids.
Conclusion:
This case highlights that homeopathy treats allergic diseases like urticaria successfully and safely without any side effects and minimizes/eliminates the need for conventional medicines.
