A 34-years-old lady, Mrs. S.Z. (PIN 28061) visited Life Force on 25th February 2016 with a complaint of urticaria and fissure-in-ano. The patient was suffering from urticaria for two years. Her urticarial eruptions ranged from a few mm to few cms. After scratching, the size of the eruptions used to get increased. The eruptions appeared on any part of her body. She was suffering from severe itching and burning. The patient had the wheel like eruptions on the affected body parts. No Angioedema was present in her case. But, dermatographism was present in this case. Writing lines and words on skin expressing urticaria is called dermatographism.
Besides urticaria, she was also suffering from the fissure-in-ano for two years.
The patient was a non-vegetarian by diet. Her appetite had diminished. Her thirst was average. She liked sweets a lot. She liked chocolate, chicken, and fruits a lot. She was a chilly patient. Her motion, urine, and perspiration were normal. Her sleep was disturbed. But, there was no specific dream.
In her family, her father was suffering from hypertension. Her mother was suffering from some skin problem. Her grandfather from the maternal side was also suffering from a skin problem, and her aunt was suffering from allergic rhinitis. She didn’t have any complaint in her past medical history.
She was a homemaker. Her husband was doing the job in merchant navy. Her son was studying in Std.1st.
She was joyful by nature. She was a confident lady. She didn’t take the stress and prefer to take her own decision. She wept very easily. She was very friendly and talkative. She had done inter-religion love marriage. Her family life was very happy.
After studying her detailed case history, she was prescribed a research-based molecule for her urticaria complaint.
First follow up
After two months of the medication on 5th April 2016, when the patient gave her follow-up, there was a good improvement observed in the eruptions and itching.
Her relief from itching was 60% improved.
Second follow up
On 14th October 2016, when she gave her follow-up, her condition was under control. Her urticaria on the face & back was totally cured, but some new eruptions had appeared on her legs and hip. Her relief from redness, roughness, and itching of eruptions improved more than 60%. She has advised some blood tests.
Third follow up
On 3rd March 2017, when she gave her follow-up, all her symptoms had improved by 70%. The relief from all symptoms, such as itching, redness, wheel formation, and sensitivity, were improved more than 70%. In her reports, Vitamin D was low so she was advised to start the Vitamin D supplement.
Fourth follow up
On 17th August 2017, when she gave her follow-up, her condition was 90% improved. Bumps appeared on her body only after waxing. Her redness, itching, burning, and dermatographism all were almost cured. The patient was very happy with her improvement.
Fifth follow up
On 1st January 2018, she gave her follow-up. There were no eruptions appearing on her body from the last 3-4 months. There was no complaint, so she was advised to stop the treatment. She stopped the treatment in January 2018.
Conclusion:
This case illustrates that homeopathy is quite effective in treating urticaria successfully & safely without any side-effects.
