A 3-year-old male child (PIN: 45360) visited Life Force’s Borivali (West) clinic on 15th May 2021 with a complaint of Oedema all over the body. He was taking the tablet Omnacortil 20 mg since 23rd May 2021 and his urine analysis revealed 3 + protein.

The child was suffering from Nephrotic syndrome since December 2020, and the condition was progressing slowly. He had developed High Cholesterol - 473 (as of 3rd January 2021) and recurrent episodes of cough and cold.

The patient was born to parents in their 40s and was an IVF child.

A family history of diabetes was present in the child’s family’s medical history.

Follow-Ups:

When the child came for a follow-up on 27th June 2021, the swelling on his face and abdomen had reduced. He was on T. Omnacortil 20 mg on alternate days.

On the follow-up on 18th September 2021, the patient had no episodes of nephrotic syndrome in 3 months. He was still on tablet Omnacortil’s tapering doses.

On the follow-up on 22nd June 2022, his condition improved. No episodes of the nephrotic syndrome had occurred. There was no swelling on his face. Only he had a cough for the last 3 days.

On the follow-up on 24th September 2022, the child was 80% better. He had no episode of swelling in the last 1 year, except for 2 episodes of cold and watery discharge from the nose.
