Pharyngitis and Colds Successfully Treated with Homeopathy
A 4-year-old girl from the beautiful Andaman Islands (Patient ID: 53690) visited the Life Force center with her concerned parents, hoping that their little girl could finally find lasting relief from her health issues. Miss A.K. has been struggling with recurrent frequent colds for the past two years. Her cold would start with sneezing and a runny nose at every 1-2 weeks and would last for 4 to 5 days. Her cold would often worsen with cold foods, ice cream, and whenever the island's weather turned cold. Even after washing the hair, it would leave her feeling congested. She also suffered from recurring pharyngitis since she was born; steam inhalation and gargling with salt water helped her with throat issues temporarily. The recurrent cold and throat infections had become a regular part of her life, making her parents more worried.
Miss. A.K. had a good appetite for a girl her age, but whenever her frequent cold episodes kicked in, her appetite would reduce. She loved eating sweets despite having colds; she was so fond of sweets that even during her sickness she enjoyed eating sweets. Her parents mentioned in terms of digestion and hydration were normal, she had no issues, she maintained regular bowel movements and her thirst was normal, she seemed healthy in those aspects. She would sweat moderately, particularly on her face and forehead, and preferred warm weather. Her sleep was disturbed and wasn't peaceful because of her blocked nose, which interrupted her rest.
Based on the case history provided by the parents, her case was studied thoroughly, and CALCAREA PHOSPHORICA-30 was prescribed.
Her parents were instructed to return for follow-up after 6 weeks after she began taking her homeopathic medicines. They were also guided with the scope, prognosis, and duration of homeopathic treatment in her case. It was explained that while homeopathy works gradually and takes time to build its effect, they were reassured that if she experienced an acute episode of cold or pharyngitis flare-up, they were allowed to give her acute conventional medicines when necessary. Over time the need for conventional medicines would likely reduce as the homeopathic treatment will start showing its results.
Follow ups:
After 6 weeks of taking the homeopathic medicines, her parents reported that her cold complaints were much better, with an improvement of around 70%-80%. The frequency and intensity of sneezing and running nose had reduced considerably.
By 14th June 2024, her parents called to inform her about the slight worsening of her cold and throat complaints, the rainy season could be the reason for the same. As per the case, the necessary changes in the prescription were made by Dr.Shah.
After 4 months of homeopathic treatment during her third follow-up dated 14th August 2024, her parents informed her overall she is doing well and the cold complaints are reducing in terms of frequency, duration, and intensity.
The parents shared significant control over her condition, with a notable improvement of around 80–90% alleviating recurrent cold and pharyngitis episodes on October 18, 2024.
The patient's parents are so happy and thankful to Dr. Rajesh Shah and the entire Life Force team for the care and proper treatment and continuing the medications for improved stability so relapse does not happen.
