From Multiple Liver Abscesses to Recovery: Homeopathic Management of Hepatic Mucormycosis
A 63-year-old man from Telangana, previously under treatment at Life Force for prostatitis, was unexpectedly diagnosed with hepatic Mucormycosis after a liver abscess was found during diaphragm repair surgery. Due to multiple deep liver lesions, surgery was not feasible, and he began antifungal therapy along with homeopathic treatment at Life Force starting June 2023. Mucormycosis is a rare yet severe fungal infection primarily seen in individuals with compromised immune systems. This infection can impact various body parts, including the nose, sinuses, eyes, lungs, stomach, intestines, and skin. It can affect people of all ages.
A 63-year-old male from Telangana was diagnosed with hepatic Mucormycosis. He had been under our care for prostatitis and was showing improvement. In April 2023, he experienced breathing difficulties, which were attributed to an elevated diaphragm suppressing the left lung. He underwent surgery for diaphragm repair in April 2023, during which an abscess was discovered on his liver. A biopsy confirmed Mucormycosis.
Due to the presence of numerous deep lesions on the liver, surgery was not recommended. He began treatment with antifungal injections and medications. The patient also reached out to us for homeopathic treatment. A detailed case history was taken, and medicines were prescribed based on this history on June 22, 2023. At that time, his major symptom was weakness. He also had diabetes and was on antidiabetic medications.
His appetite was average, with no specific food or drink preferences. He had an average thirst for water, and no urinary issues, but experienced hard and unsatisfactory stools. His sleep was sound.
The patient, who worked a government job, lived with his wife and his elder brother’s family. He had a generally happy mood but often felt stressed easily. He preferred to keep quiet and did not share his feelings with others. He had no other significant past illnesses, though his mother had diabetes.
After thoroughly studying his case, Dr. Shah prescribed research-based homeopathic medicines and recommended a diet to follow along with the treatment.

First Followup:
On August 19, 2023, the patient reported feeling better. His weakness had decreased, and he could focus on his work. An MRI scan showed a reduction in the size of the liver lesions, and his doctor reduced the dose of his antifungal medication. Based on this feedback, further medicines were prescribed.
Second Followup
On December 11, 2023, the patient reported continued improvement. The abscesses on his liver had decreased in size and number. He had stopped all allopathic medications and was only on homeopathy. There was overall recovery with the homeopathic medicines.
Third Followup
By June 13, 2024, the patient reported even further improvement. The abscesses had reduced significantly, with only one small abscess remaining on the scan. He was no longer taking any allopathic medicines for Mucormycosis. The improvements with the homeopathic treatment were remarkable.
