The thyroid is a very important gland that plays an important role in the metabolism, development, and growth of our body. When this gland is not making enough hormones, this complaint is called underactive thyroid. Homeopathy is strongly recommended for treating an underactive thyroid in the early stage where homeopathic medicine is helpful to provoke the thyroid gland to produce normal quantities of the hormone without any thyroid supplement. This case study is showing the effectiveness of homeopathic medicine in treating an underactive thyroid case.
A 33-year-old lady, Mrs. R. R. C. (PIN: 34945) consulted at Life Fore in December 2017 for her skin complaint of lichen planus. She got total recovery from her lichen planus complaint within a year. Due to total recovery from her lichen planus complaint, she again visited our Vashi branch for her new complaint of an underactive thyroid and tinnitus in March 2021. The patient had been suffering from this complaint for three years but she had not taken any thyroid supplement. Her TST was 13.82 at her first visit. Symptomatically, her hair fall was regular, and frequent mood swings were also disturbing her. She had dry, itchy skin. Her sleep was very disturbed and her appetite increased in the last few months. Her menses were regular, and she had no complaints of facial growth or constipation. She also had the complaint of migraine for 16 years and varicose veins for 5 years.
Physical Generals:
The patient was a non-vegetarian, and she was very fond of fish and meat. She didn’t like sweets.
Psychological and Family Make-Up:
She was a physiotherapist and her husband was working in a real state. Her daughter was two years old.
Mentally, she was expressive but nervous. She was short-tempered. She was very soft-spoken.
Self and Family’s Medical History:
In her family, her father had urticaria, and her mother had an underactive thyroid and lichen planus. She had lumbar spondylitis, constipation, and lichen planus in the past.
At Life Force:
After studying her case in detail, Dr. Rajesh Shah prescribed his research-based medicine for six weeks to the patient. He also advised a customized diet.
Follow-Ups:
After taking homeopathic medicine for a few months, she reported an improvement symptomatically in June 2021. Her hair fall complaints and her mood swings had reduced. She was also advised to check TSH. Her TSH was also reduced and was in the normal range without any thyroid supplement.
In September 2021, she repeated her thyroid function test. Her TSH again was in the normal range. The relief from all her symptoms, such as hair fall, dryness of skin, and mood swings was better.
The patient was very regular with the homeopathic medicine and was following a restricted diet. Her condition was good with homeopathic medicine. She was not facing any problems.
In May 2022, when she repeated the tests and got her thyroid report, her TSH was high. But, her all symptoms were under control. As per her high TSH, Dr. Shah made the necessary changes in her prescription.
With the regularity of homeopathic medicine, her TSH report in December 2022 was good. Her TSH was 3.98. Her menses were regular and her relief from all other symptoms had also improved.
Recently, in February 2023, when she gave her follow-up, her condition was very good. She was not facing any problems and was regular with the homeopathic medicines.

This case illustrates that homeopathy improves immunity and promotes internal healing. Getting such amazing results and healing of the thyroid gland, without any thyroid supplement, is the beauty of Homeopathy.
