Eight-year-old child journey from injection to pills.

Ms. A.S.B, an 8-year-old female child (Patient ID 53401), visited the Life Force Thane branch along with her father. She had been suffering from alopecia areata for 7 to 8 months as per her father, but he was doubtful about the period it started. They belonged to a Muslim family, so she always covered her head with a scarf. He had noticed somewhere 2 months ago that Alopecia the scalp margin was moderate, and progressive small patches on both eyebrows were seen. She had 6 patches on scalp margins, 2 patches approximately 3 cm on the frontal hairline sides, 2 patches 3 mm in the scalp back margin near the nape of the neck, 2 patches on the scalp margin near both ears, and 2 small on bilateral eyebrows since 1 month, one small patch 1 mm on each eyebrow since 1 month. Hair fall was about 10 to 20 strands/day with mild itching in the scalp, no dandruff; she uses Head and Shoulders shampoo. No gray hair and no thinning of hair were noted.

Past Medication:

Took one Kenacort 10 mg injection of triamcinolone on 12.12.23, and further doses were advised. Father had googled the details of the injection and hence did not want to continue this injection for his daughter and hence was in search of other alternative treatment.

Family History: Grandmother had cancer of the throat.

Physical Generals: Her weight was 24 kg, ambithermal, average appetite, drinks water 1 liter/day. Conscious and well-oriented.

Fearful dreams are seen, she dreams of the loss of her hand and then cries and gets up from sleep.

Mental Generals: Always irritable and fighting with her siblings, she did not have a cordial relationship with her mother, always angry and shouting. Low grasping power, does not pay attention in studies, and gets average marks in the exams. Do not talk much in school; the teacher complains that she does not study. She was a 2nd-grade student at Trimurti English Medium. She likes only her father''s company, but her father is busy and not able to spend much time.

At Life Force Homeopathy:

A detailed case history was taken, and after evaluating all her physical and mental generals, Dr. Rajesh Shah prescribed phosphorus 30. She was also advised of blood investigations; some deficiency was found, for which the supplement was advised. Follow-ups were taken regularly.

Follow up:

21.02.24 The first follow-up reported she was 20% better, no new patches were seen, no itching, the lesion of scalp size decreasing, and no hair fall was seen.

05.05.24 Further improvement was noticed; new hair growth was seen on the ear side lesion and no new patch.

22.06.24  She was 50% better; all patches of the scalp looked smaller in size, new hair growth was seen, and no new spots were seen on the scalp and eyebrow; also, new hair growth was seen.

By 4/8/2024, old spots on the scalp reduced in size, hair growth was seen, left eyebrow hair growth was seen, and only 4 small new patches on the scalp were present.

21/9/2024: She was 70% better; all patches on the scalp were reduced, hair growth was seen on the scalp, and on eyebrows, new hair growth was seen.

By 05/01/25, more improvement was seen in all the patches, and nearly all bald spots had recovered and showed good hair regrowth; only the frontal patches had small gaps.

Conclusion:

This case supports homeopathy as a promising solution for childhood alopecia areata. The homeopathic remedies promoted natural hair regrowth mechanisms, without any side effects like steroids.
