Dust-Induced Sneezing and Colds Resolved With Homeopathy

The female patient of 54 years old (Patient ID: 29376) came with the complaint of chronic upper respiratory symptoms with recurrent episodes of frequent colds. Her complaints were characterized by a watery nasal discharge, sneezing, nasal blockage, and throat irritation. These symptoms have occurred approximately once per month for the last 7-8 months, with each episode lasting between 5 and 7 days. The intensity of the episodes was moderate, and steam inhalation provided some relief from the watery discharge. The symptoms were often triggered by exposure to dust. Sneezing was usually present only on the first day of an episode, followed by nasal congestion developing within the next day or two. The patient reported a dependency on conventional medications, including antibiotics and antihistamines, which she used for nearly a week during each episode.

Physical generals: A normal diet with no particular cravings or aversions, and her thermal reaction was chilly in nature.
She experienced irregular menses accompanied by mood changes, and she had delivered two children normally.
Mental generals: The patient presented as anxious and reported getting angry easily, indicating an emotional sensitivity that could contribute to her physical ailments.

Associated complaints: scalp psoriasis, a myometrial cyst, anxiety, hypertension, and hypercholesterolemia.
Current Medication: Her allopathic medications included Twynsta (telmisartan and amlodipine) for blood pressure and Lipitor (atorvastatin) for cholesterol management.
She sought homeopathic treatment under the guidance of Dr. Rajesh Shah. Her prescription was individualized based on her presenting complaints, physical generalities, emotional state, and medical history.

Follow-ups:
First follow-up: During the first visit on 8th February 2025, she reported only one mild episode of throat irritation, which was easily managed with a single dose of montelukast.
Second follow-up: on 5th April 2025, she had not experienced any major episodes of cold or cough and was no longer taking any conventional medication for her respiratory issues.
She noted that such episodes typically occurred during the winter, but this seasonal tendency appeared to be significantly controlled.

Conclusion:
In conclusion, this case highlights the effectiveness of individualized homeopathic treatment in managing frequent colds. The dependency on conventional drugs was significantly reduced, and her quality of life improved with the resolution of frequent respiratory episodes.
