He had enlarged lymph nodes in the neck for 10 years.

Diagnostic Investigations

On the 20th of July 2020, Mr A.R. underwent the following investigations:

USG Neck

 Indicated the presence of reactionary cervical lymph nodes.

MRI Neck

 Revealed a few sub-centimeter-sized lymph nodes at levels 1, 2, and 3, suggestive of reactive aetiology.Additionally, mild elongation of the soft palate and mild leftward deviation of the uvula was observed. However, no evidence of abnormal focal area intensity alteration was noted.

Initial Treatment Done

Antibiotics and painkillers were taken on and off.

A gastric Biopsy on 03/08/2020 indicated H. Pylori, associated with Chronic Active Gastritis.

Patient’s Characteristics
Physical Generals

The patient had an average appetite. He had a mixed diet. He had hardly any perspiration and had a thermally chilly tendency.

Mental Sphere

The patient was gentle, clever, loquacious, expressive, confident, and precise, but he used to get easily irritated and would experience anticipatory anxiety and frustration.

Physical Examination

Neck: Enlarged lymph nodes in the level 1, 2, and 3 nodes

Approach Treatment of Life Force

A detailed case-taking was done. Dr. Rajesh Shah studied the case in detail and prescribed medication along with some changes in lifestyle and diet. Blood investigations were also suggested.

Follow-up and Progress

At the follow-up on 16th November 2022, the patient’s lymph nodes slightly increased in size. A congested feeling in the throat was still present.

At the follow-up on 13th January 2023, there was a further increase in lymph node size. The recent episode of throat irritation occurred along with hoarseness and blood mixed with sputum. He experienced a weight loss of 1.5 kg since November 2022.

At the follow-up on 16th March 2023, the patient experienced mild pain in the lymph node, an episode of throat irritation, and a weight loss of 4 kgs. He was following a diet to reduce weight.

At the follow-up on 14th May 2023, an improvement was noted in his relief. No episodes of pain and irritation in the throat had occurred. Antibiotics were taken for cough and cold for five days. The patient no longer had swelling in the neck.

At the follow-up on 20th August 2023, the patient had experienced a significant improvement with no episodes of increase in lymph node size even during cold and cough for 4 months, so treatment was stopped.
