Significant Improvement in a 3-Year-Old Girl’s Nephrotic Syndrome with Timely Homeopathic Treatment
A 3-year-old girl, A.S. (PIN 27289), consulted Life Force on 13th November 2015 for nephrotic syndrome, diagnosed 4 months earlier. She had swelling around the eyes, urine albumin ++, and pus cells. She also had fever, cough, and cold at the time of consultation. Her appetite increased during steroid use, with cravings for eggs, fish, meat, and spicy food. She was cheerful by nature but had recently become irritable and easily angered. No significant family or medical history was reported except for a febrile seizure episode 4 months earlier. Case History
A 3-years-old girl A.S. (PIN 27289) consulted at Life Force on 13th November 2015 for the treatment of the nephrotic syndrome. She was diagnosed with this condition 4 months back and she had taken the steroid at the time of the episode. She had developed swelling mainly around the eyes. At the time of consultation, the albumin in the urine was ++ and pus cells were also present in it. Apart from this, from the past 3-4 days, she was suffering from fever, cough, and cold.
Her appetite was excessive when she was taking the steroid, otherwise, her appetite was average. She had craving for eggs, fish, meat, and spicy foods. She didn’t like sweets. Her bowel movement, urination, sweat, and sleep were normal. Her built was average. Her development was on time.
She was a jolly girl who would like to be happy in her mother’s company most of the time. She easily adjusted in her age group. She had become irritable off late, and she would get very angry at trivial matters. She would get angry when anyone would contradict on whatever she wanted.
There was no specific family history. In her past, she had faced one episode of febrile seizure 4 months back. Apart from this, there was no other specific disease in her past.
After studying her detailed case history, she was prescribed research-based molecule by Dr. Shah.
The patient gave her first follow-up on 9th January 2016. Her father informed that there was some improvement in her condition. Her orbital swelling was totally covered up. Her nature was calm and quiet in comparison to the previous visit. Still, some protein was traced for a few days. Her steroid was totally stopped.
First followup
On 10th July 2016, patient’s father reported her condition. Her condition was under control. She had faced two episodes of nephrotic syndrome. In that duration, the patient had taken the steroid. There was an improvement in her overall health after commencing the homeopathic treatment.
Second followup
On her follow-up on 24th February 2017, her condition was improving drastically. From the last 4 months, no episode had relapsed. All her symptoms recovered totally. From the last four months, she was not taking any steroid. Protein was not traced in her urine. Her both mental and physical conditions had improved a lot.
Third followup
On 16th August 2017, patient’s father gave the feedback. He informed that after October 2016 there was only one episode relapsed in June. For that, she had taken the steroid.
Fourth followup
On 7th December 2017, her father reported that there no complaint. In the month of June, one episode had relapsed and steroid 30mg was started for it. Later, it was tapered to 20 mg & it was stopped since October 2017. Patient’s father was quite happy with the treatment.
Fifth followup
On 1st February 2018, when her father gave the follow-up, her condition was very good. No relapsed had appeared after June 2017. Her general well-being was improved a lot. Her father was quite satisfied with the medicine.
She is still continuing the medicine for further results.
Conclusion:
This case shows even in a complicated disease like nephrotic syndrome, homeopathy can give drastic & fast results if the medicine is started on time and by an experienced homeopath.
