What is Cancer?
Cancer is a severe disease that is triggered by a “mutation” in the DNA of the cells of the body. A mutation is a change in the genetic structure of cells. These abnormal cancerous cells grow unchecked in the body and can invade and destroy normal tissue. These abnormal cells can then start spreading throughout the body (metastasis). The problem arises when normal body tissues cannot obtain sufficient resources to survive because they are consumed by cancerous cells.
