Epistaxis, or bleeding from the nose, is a common complaint. Common causes of epistaxis include local trauma resulting due to nose-picking, a foreign body in the nose, anatomic irregularities such as a deviated septum, facial trauma, incorrect or excessive use of topical nasal sprays, inflammatory reactions, and rarely intranasal tumors. Systemic conditions that increase the risk of epistaxis include high blood pressure (hypertension), vascular malformations, cardiovascular diseases, and bleeding disorders.

A 60-year-old male patient, Mr. D. E. K. (PIN: 42458), who was working in Indian oil, visited Life Force Homeopathy’s Vashi clinic for the treatment of his complaints of bleeding from the nose that he was suffering from for 30 years. The patient had done surgery 3 times but the condition was worst after the last surgery in 2018. He wanted to try Homeopathy once. Discharge of bright red blood from the nose present at any time for 4-5 minutes for 1 year (after doing the surgery in 2018).

The patient had undergone surgery three times.

• 1st surgery in 1987
• 2nd surgery in 1995
• 3rd surgery in 2018

The frequency of the episodes was not fixed. Sometimes, it was daily once for 2-3 days, but, sometimes, the patient experienced no bleeding for 10 days since 1 year (after doing the surgery). One year before, the episodes occurred only in 6 months (From Dec to May, later no episode till November).

Self and Family’s Medical History

The patient had a history of malaria and hydrocoele. His father suffered from diabetes and hypertension.

The patient had associated diseases of hypertension for 20 years and constipation with hard stool for the last 15 years.

The patient was very emotional, sensitive, calm, and anxious.

At Life Force

Follow-Ups

At the follow-up on 6th March 2020, the patient was 40% better and had no episode of bleeding for one and a half months.

When the patient gave a follow-up on 27th February 2021, the patient experienced just one mild episode of nose bleeding on 13th February for 2 minutes after 8-10 months.

At the follow-up on 12th October 2021, the patient was 70% better. The patient had no episode of epistaxis in the last 4 months and started working in the last month. So, he wanted to restart the treatment for the prevention of the condition.

On the follow-up on 5th December 2021, the patient had no episode of epistaxis even in the winter and rainy seasons, and he was doing better.

On the follow-up on 13th April 2022, the patient was overall good and had no episode of nose bleeding.
