A 26-years-old girl, Ms. A.G.F. (PIN 21841) visited at Life Force on 27th October 2013 with a complaint of vitiligo. The patient was suffering from vitiligo since two years. Her disease had progressed gradually since one year. At the time of consultation, her lower extremities, upper extremities, and back and below eyes were affected by the disease. She had a milky white spot on her wrist. She was taking the homeopathic treatment from a local homeopath.
Besides vitiligo, she was also suffering from underactive thyroid since four years. She was taking a thyroid supplement for it.
The patient was non-vegetarian by diet. Her appetite & thirst were average. She liked the sweet food a lot. She was hot patient. Her motion, urine, and sleep were normal. She was difficult to perspiration. There was no specific dream. She was stout and obese by built.
In her family, her mother was suffering from hypertension. She had no specific past history.
She was studying in 2nd year of CS. Her father was retired as a pharmacologist. Her mother was retired as a lecturer of Zoology at Kolhapur college.
She was studious and joyful in nature. She was short-tempered and aggressive but only for a few seconds and then she used to cool down. She was very reserved. She had the fear of insects and snakes.
After studying her detailed case history, she was prescribed two doses of Calcaria carb 30 and research-based molecule for her vitiligo complaint.
First follow up
After two months of medication on 20th February 2014, when the patient gave her follow-up, there was a good improvement observed in the vitiligo spots. She was advised to do some tests.
Second follow up
A few months later on 19th August 2014, when she gave her follow-up, she got 50% improvement in all her spots. Her spot which was below the eyes was almost gone. But, her thyroid was not in control.
Third follow up
On 21st May 2015, when she gave her follow-up, all her spots had improved by 60%. Her thyroid was under control with medicine and her menstrual cycle was also regular. The patient was satisfied with her improvement.
Fourth follow up
On 18th February 2016, when she gave her follow-up, there were no new spots & old spots were showing improvement. Her thyroid & menstrual cycle were also under control. There were no other complaints.
Fifth follow up
On 17th October 2016, her condition was more than 70% improved. Her relief from other complaints was also improved.
Sixth follow up
On 15th May 2017, when the patient visited the center for follow-up, her condition was improved a lot. In her reports, Vitamin B 12 & Vitamin D were low so the doctor advised her the supplements for the same along with the homeopathic medicine.
Seventh follow up
On 11th November 2017, the patient gave her follow-up. Her condition was good. No new spots appeared and old spots were also showing improvement. The patient was happy with the treatment.
She is still continuing our medicine for further recovery.
Conclusion:
This case study highlights that homeopathy can effectively treat an auto-immune disorder like vitiligo safely without any side-effects.
