After stopping steroid ointments, his patch initially worsened but gradually stabilized with Dr. Shah’s individualized medicines. A 4-year-old boy (Patient ID: 38347) from Gurgaon, Haryana, started treatment online on 24th October 2018 for his vitiligo complaints. The hypopigmented patch was on the left corner of the mouth and also on the left side of the chin, which was approximately 3 cm. The patch has been present for the last 4 months and has been spreading gradually. The patient has been taking some ayurvedic churna and some ointment for the last 2 months.
Past Medication
Patient was using Tacrolimus ointment twice/day and Clotrimazole + Beclomethasone + Neomycin sulfate ointment twice/day.
Physical Generals
Patient was having average meals, vegetarian, craving spicy, sour, and sweet foods with average thirst for 1 liter/day. There were no complaints of stools and micturition; the patient was chilly.
Personal History
The patient was studying in the Nursery in Dombivli. Father was working as a manager at Healthsprain Healthcare in Parel, and Mother was a housewife. He also has a 10-month-old brother. The patient''s weight was 13.7 kg.
Mental Symptoms
The patient was mentally happy, got irritated at times, and became restless as well.
Family History
The patient’s father had an underactive thyroid, and also his grandmother (paternal) had an underactive thyroid.
Based on his case details and the location and extent of the patches, and also considering the totality of symptoms of the patient, Dr. Rajesh Shah prescribed the medicines based on his research as well.
Follow-ups – The first follow-up was taken on 20th December 2018. The complaints were aggravated as the patient had suddenly stopped the steroid ointment. A slight spread of a hypopigmented patch was noted.
The second follow-up was taken on 21st February 2019; the patch was stable, with no further spread of the old hypopigmented patch, and no new patch was noted.
The third follow-up was taken on 25th April 2019; the hypopigmented patch was getting better, the size of the patch was slightly reduced, and no new spots or spread were noted.
At the next follow-up, which was taken on 20th August 2019, the patient was 75-80% better, the hypopigmented patch was getting repigmented, the size was also reduced, and no new spots or spread were noted.
On 4th March 2020, the patient was 80% better; significant improvement and repigmentation were noted, but one mild spot was noted on the right cheek, which was approximately 1 cm.
On 3rd December 2020, the patient’s father said the spot seemed brighter, which might be because they went to the village for a few days. But in his next follow-up on 12th August 2021, the patient was much better than before, no spread was noted, and there were no new spots; old spots were getting better, and repigmentation was also noted by 80%.
The last follow-up was taken on 17th November 2022, where the patient was better by 90%. Overall, the patch was dull and repigmented. No spread, no new spot anywhere, and the hypopigmented patch was almost diminished.
Conclusion
This shows that homeopathic treatment at Life Force shows significant recovery in chronic, challenging autoimmune conditions like vitiligo and shows significant results.
