Homeopathic migraine and recurrent cold relief in a school-going child

A 12 year old boy with migraine aggravated by exam stress and long-standing frequent colds was brought to Life Force for homeopathic care. His headaches were right sided with nausea and occasional vomiting, along with repeated cold and cough episodes affecting school life and confidence. After detailed evaluation and individualized homeopathic treatment, gradual improvement was seen in both conditions. Over regular follow ups, migraine frequency and intensity reduced steadily, colds became infrequent, and overall health improved. With continued care, he achieved complete relief from migraine and recurrent colds, along with better confidence and academic performance.

This is a case study of 12 a 12-year-old boy, H.N.D. (Patient Identification Number 10170) suffering from Migraine and Frequent Colds. He visited Life Force on 20th November 2007 with his mother. He has been suffering from Migraine for the last two years. He would get a headache once a month. For the last four months, the frequency of pain had increased to once per week. He would get a severe right-sided headache with nausea, lasting for 5-6 hours. There was occasional vomiting, which would relieve the pain. He would get more episodes of migraine before exams.

Master H.N.D. was also suffering from Frequent Colds since childhood. He would get a cold and cough once or twice every month, and it would last for ten days. It would start with a nose block and difficulty in breathing. He would get a cough with yellowish expectoration.

His mother had also suffered from Migraine. He had a family history of Psoriasis and Cancer.

His appetite was good with a strong liking for junk food, cheese, and ice cream. Bowel habits and perspiration were everyday. He was more sensitive to cold than to heat. His sleep was good with no specific dreams. He had a history of delayed milestones.

Master H.N.D. was shy and sensitive by nature. He was not very good at studies. His father would scold him about his performance. His confidence was low in talking to others or mixing with friends. He would always like to be alone; he would never bother about what others say about him. He was lethargic and slow in doing things. There was a lot of an inferiority complex; he would think that he could not do well in studies. This kind of stress would increase his Migraine before exams.

Follow-ups:

First follow-up:

On 31st Dec 2007. In the first two months of the treatment, there was not much improvement in his Migraine. He had his exams. He got Migraine attacks once or twice per week in those two months. Pain was more before his exams. He also had a cold and a cough twice in the last two months. Each episode lasted for 8-10 days. Considering this feedback, his medicines were upgraded.

Second follow-up:

He reported on 24th March 2008. The intensity of his Migraine had reduced by 30-40%. The frequency had reduced to once a month. In those two months, he got a cold and coughed twice, but each episode lasted only 4-6 days.

Third follow-up:

In his further follow-up after two months on 24th May 2008, the intensity of Migraine had further reduced to 50%. Frequency was the same, once per month.

Fourth follow-up:

His mother gave the following feedback on 3rd July 2008. In those two months, he had Migraine episode only once. The intensity of pain was reduced by 70-80%. He had no episodes of a cold during those two months.

Conclusion:

He showed continuous improvement in his Migraine and frequent colds. Gradually, the intensity and frequency were reduced. With one and a half years of regular homeopathic treatment, he was relieved entirely from Migraine and Frequent Colds. His mother happily reported on 13th February 2009 about tremendous relief in his Migraine and Frequent Colds. He continues to take treatment from us. He visits Life Force once or twice a year, for a cold or coryza. Now he does not suffer from migraine. The allergic rhinitis is also cured. He is better organized in studies and in his general behavior.
