She had been suffering from a disease named Prurigo nodularis, a chronic autoimmune skin condition characterized by intensely itchy, firm, raised bumps (nodules) that were often symmetrically distributed on the arms, legs, upper back, and abdomen, resulting from chronic scratching and rubbing.
For a month, she had taken steroidal treatment, but it had been ineffective. She had been taking Flucanol cream (an antifungal) and T. Zempred 8mg (a steroid). Her issues were not getting better, though, and after reading about the negative effects of long-term steroid use, she became afraid and stopped using them. She wanted to begin a long-term, safe treatment, so she reached us.
She is a homemaker who had been impacted by the illness, as the discomfort and itching from eruptions prevented her from performing her responsibilities at home. On the dorsum of her hands, legs, and forearms, she experienced numerous elevated eruptions accompanied by intense itching. First Followup
