Chronic Psoriasis on Toenails and Heels Shows Remarkable Improvement with Homeopathy

A 48-year-old woman with chronic psoriatic lesions on toenails, soles, and heels experienced severe itching, dryness, and cracking. After starting individualized homeopathic treatment, her symptoms gradually improved, with 90% relief over several months. For the past two years, a 48-year-old female patient (Patient ID: 49583) has been complaining of scaly, hyperpigmented psoriatic lesions on both of her toenails, soles, and heels. The lesions progressed slowly and had a moderate severity. The itching was irresistible. Both heels had cuts and cracks, and there were bleeding areas that worsened when scratched. There was also dryness.For the past three months, she has been using Ointment-Dipsalic F (clobetasol and salicylic acid) and moisturizer once daily.

Physical Generals

 She was taking average mixed meals, craving spicy food, and having an aversion to sweets. Her thirst was average at 5-6 glasses/day. Thermally, she was ambithermal, having no complaints of micturition or bowel movements.

Personal History

She was a housewife. Her husband was working in the banking sector. She has two daughters; the elder one is a B.Com student studying in her 2nd year, and the younger daughter is working in a private company.

Mental Symptoms

She was living happily in her young age and adulthood. Her behavior was mild but expressive as well; also, the patient was precise and had a habit of overthinking about the future and kids.

Family History

The patient's father had a prolapsed intervertebral disc and tuberculosis. Mother had arthritis, hypertension, and renal calculi. Grandmother from the maternal side had epilepsy, and grandmother from the paternal side was suffering from psoriasis.

Past History

She was operated on for a left-side tympanic membrane and also had a history of recurrent urinary tract infections.

On examination, hyperpigmented lesions with slight scaling and ill-shaped bilateral toenails.Based on all these present complaints of itching and psoriatic eruptions, Dr. Rajesh Shah has prescribed the medication based on his research, in which he is an expert.

Follow-Ups

Her first follow-up was taken on 2nd December 2022; the patient was overall the same as before; the itching of eruptions was the same, along with cuts and cracks.

On 28th February 2023, she started showing positive changes; itching decreased by 50%, and there were no new eruptions.

On 16th May 2023, she significantly improved by 80%. Psoriatic eruptions were much improved, and itching was also further better.

On 27th August 2023, she was 90% better; she got only one mild episode of itching in the sole at night after having contact with mud. Apart from this, the patient had no fresh complaints; almost every eruption subsided.

The last follow-up was taken on 21st February 2024, where every symptom was stable, itching on the left leg sole was occasionally present, cuts and cracks over the heels were much improved, and dryness when present got better with coconut oil or ghee.
