Effective Management of Prostatitis in a 50-Year-Old Male: 80% Symptomatic Relief
Mr. V. A. K. (Patient Identification Number: 18943), an Indian-origin male residing in the United States, availed online homeopathic treatment for prostatitis from Life Force in April 2011. He had a history of urinary tract infection in December 2010 and was subsequently diagnosed with prostatitis in January 2011. His main complaint was increased frequency of urination every 2–3 hours, without burning pain, straining, or obstructed urinary flow. Multiple courses of antibiotics taken earlier had provided minimal relief. Routine blood and urine investigations were normal. The patient’s general health revealed an average appetite and good tolerance to both heat and cold. Mentally, he was anxious and fearful by nature, with particular concern about his wife’s health, and would express anger by shouting. He was also a known case of high blood pressure and was taking Ayurvedic medicines for the same. After detailed case analysis, Dr. Shah prescribed Calcarea Iodatum 200C along with supportive research-based medicines. By July 2011, the patient reported about 50% improvement, with a noticeable reduction in urinary frequency. He had suffered from Urinary Tract Infection in December, 2010. He was diagnosed with Prostatitis in January 2011. The frequency of urination would be every 2 – 3 hours. He did not complain of any burning pain, strain or obstructed flow of urine. He had taken many antibiotic courses in the past, but did not find much improvement. He had been investigated with all routine blood and urine tests.
His appetite was average with no specific liking or disliking. He was tolerant to both warm and cold temperatures.
His family consisted of his mother, wife and 2 children. He was an Indian in origin, staying in United States.
He was anxious and fearful by nature. He had anxiety regarding his wife’s health. He would generally express his anger by shouting loudly.
He was also suffering from high blood pressure and was taking Ayurvedic medicines for the same.

First Followup
He reported on 14th July with 50% improvement in his urine complaint. The frequency had reduced.
Second Followup
After 9 months of treatment he reported on 5th December with 80% improvement in his urine complaint. The frequency had further normalized. The flow was good. He felt comfortable now.
