A 60-year-old female patient, Mrs. M. M. (PIN: 12956) contacted Life Force Homeopathy on 29th November 2009 for the treatment of her oral lichen planus which she was suffering from for 2 years. The patient had presented with symptoms, such as reddish and white streaks on the gums, and both her upper and lower gums were involved. The Lichen planus started spreading and covered the whole of the gingival surface. The first spot appeared over Gingiva opposite to the left molar teeth then gradually it was spreading covering the whole of the Gingiva. She was suffering from pain, redness, and burning. The pain would increase after eating spicy and sour food.
A thorough and detailed case-taking was done.The patient had Patchy Albinism Retinopathy in both eyes, and Hyperacidity was an associated symptom.The patient told us that she had a history of emotional stress and that was the reason for her complaints to start.The patient had a normal sleep cycle, appetite, and thirst.

Follow-Ups
Her first follow-up was done on 30th March 2010. The patient told us that her relief from pain and redness in the gums had improved, and no new lesions had appeared.
In her second follow-up in June 2010, the patient reported of being better with relief from the pain while eating and redness of gums. No new lesions had appeared.
By September 2010, the patient was almost 50% better.
By November 2010, the patient got almost 70% relief in her complaints.
By January 2011, the patient was stable in her relief from the complaints.
By March 2011, the patient reported that her pain was under control and she could eat everything well still some redness over the gums was present.
For almost a year, the patient was quite stable.
In February 2012, the patient reported of salty taste in the mouth whereas the redness and pain were stable. After a thorough evaluation of complaints, Dr. Shah prescribed some research-based medicines.
The patient was on Life Force medicines for another year and was stable.
In February 2013, the patient was diagnosed with hypertension and she started modern medications for that. She continued with Life Force homeopathic medicines as she was aware of the trigger that modern medications pose to her existing Oral Lichen Planus condition.
The patient has more or less been stable with Life Force medicines and experienced a few fluctuations when there were some triggering factors such as stress at home or her sleep cycle getting affected due to any reason.
In October 2015, the patient had some major sleep issues and decreased appetite with some increase in her burning pain and some foul smell from her mouth. After a thorough evaluation of the feedback, Dr. Shah changed her prescription.
The patient kept continuing with the Life Force treatment for it had provided her a wonderful control over her condition along with stability in her acidity ailments and sleep disturbances.
Its more than 13 years, but she has not developed any new lesions nor experienced any spread of the disease. The patient is completely better with her recovery from lichen planus and is still undergoing treatment as she does not want the relapse of the unpleasant, discomforting disease.
