The patient hasn't had any episodes of hair loss like this before, and he hasn't mentioned any symptoms like itching, pain, or redness in the affected area.
The family has been closely watching for any indications of progression, and there were no additional patches anywhere else on the body or the scalp. The parents had consulted the local dermatologist but however they were not in favor of starting the steroid shots for his alopecia areata, since they were aware of the temporary relief offered by the steroids.
