Gujarat Patient Achieves Complete Recovery from Multiple Chalazion Using Homeopathy
A 40-year-old male from Gujarat suffering from multiple, long-standing chalazia achieved complete recovery with homeopathic treatment. Despite prior unsuccessful local remedies, the patient’s hard eyelid nodules fully resolved without surgery. A chalazion is generally a painless, slowly growing nodule on the eyelid formed by inflammation of the meibomian glands. It is a chronic enlargement of the meibomian glands of the eyelid which had the purpose of lubricating the margins of the eyelids, by producing a layer of tear. Due to acute or subacute inflammation of the eyelid, there could be obstruction of the duct of the meibomian gland, leading to retention of the tears and swelling of the lid.One such case involved a 40-year-old male from Gujarat, Mr. B. M (Patient ID: 52911), who started treatment with us for the complaint of Chalazion on 28 October 2013.
The patient had been suffering from it for 1 year. He presented with 3 chalazia on his upper eyelids. There were hard raised bumps on the eyelids. There was no pain or discomfort in them. He had developed three chalazions in the last 1 year and none had reduced in size. He had taken Homeopathic medicines from a local doctor but it hadn’t helped him much. Hence he had visited us for treatment. The patient had an average appetite. There was a specific desire to eat fruits and he had a dislike for spicy food. His thirst was average.
There were no issues with urine and stool. The patient tended to sweat profusely. His sleep was sound and refreshing. The patient was an engineer by profession. He was staying with his wife and children. He was very reserved and introverted by nature. He didn’t have any major stress in life. He liked to go out and meet new people. There were no other past illnesses noticed by the patient. His father had suffered from cardiac issues and his mother had suffered from cancer of breast.
After studying the case in detail, Dr. Shah prescribed him Silica 30 and some research-based homeopathic medicinesOn 5th December 2023, in the first follow-up, the patient reported that he is feeling the same as before. The hard-raised bump was the same as before. There was no increase or decrease in size after taking medicines. On basis of this feedback, Dr. Shah had revised the medicines and prescribed new medicines.
On 13th January 2024, the patient reported that he is feeling improvement with the medicines. The size of chalazion had reduced but he had also noticed one new chalazion on right lower eyelid from past few days. On basis of this feedback, he was prescribed further medicines.
On 24th February 2024, the patient updated that he is better with the medicines. All the raised bumps had reduced now. There was no new chalazion formation after the last set of medicines. There was overall improvement with medicines. The patient was very happy with the results.
On 29th June 2024, the patient updated that he was further better with the medicines. He had 3 raised hard bumps on upper eyelids when he had started treatment but now it was completely gone without any surgery. The patient was not using any allopathic medicines and he was only on homeopathic treatment from Life Force. He was very happy and satisfied with results.
Conclusion
This case highlights how homeopathy effectively helped in long-standing, non-resolving chalazion cases without the need for surgery. No surgical procedures were required at any stage. The remedy Silicea, along with Dr. Shah''s research-based medicines, helped in the complete absorption of chronic nodules without scarring and also addressed the underlying tendency of recurrent chalazion formation.
