This case study presents the successful homeopathic treatment of a 40-year-old female patient.
A 40-year-old female patient (Patient ID: 37341) presented with complaints of Oral Lichen Planus since the past two months. She has eruptions inside her mouth, on her gums, and on her tongue. White lacy lesions were observed inside her cheeks and on her gums, along with approximately 0.5 cm round spots on her tongue. Initially, the eruptions appeared on her gums and left cheek before progressively spreading. The patient complained of a burning sensation while eating spicy food and experienced very mild itching. Despite the persistent symptoms, there was no significant bleeding or ulceration.
Physical General
The patient maintained an average diet without any specific aversions or cravings. She was thermally chilly and had normal and satisfactory bowel movements. Emotionally, she was generally happy but felt slightly stressed due to her illness.
Personal History
She was a housewife, living with her spouse and two children. The stress caused by the disease further contributed to her concern about the condition’s progression and cosmetic implications.
Dr. Rajesh Shah prescribed individualized homeopathic medications based on his research. The treatment includes both the local symptoms and the patient''s overall immune response. The patient’s progress was tracked through multiple follow-ups over several years:
First Follow-Up
31st August 2018: 10% improvement was noted with no further spread of eruptions and also reduced burning intensity.
Second Follow-Up
24th October 2018, where the patient was having 10-15% improvement; old scars not yet healed, but a slight reduction in burning sensation was noted.
Third Follow-Up
23rd December 2018, when the patient was having a 30% improvement with noticeable symptom reduction; the burning sensation was better, no new eruptions were present, but old eruptions seemed the same as before.
After consequent follow-up on 13th May 2019, the patient had 80% improvement with no such complaints of burning or itching; only hyperpigmentation remained.On 9th August 2019, a 90% improvement was noted, but then a new eruption appeared on 17th October 2019, with much-reduced intensity and severity.As condition was aggravated, again a detailed history was taken, and then medication was prescribed accordingly
On 2nd April 2021, an 80% improvement was later on.
On 11th December 2022
Last follow up was taken, where the patient had a complete recovery, no new eruptions, no burning pain, and hyperpigmentation was significantly improved.Thus, the homeopathic treatment helped in reducing the inflammatory response and controlling the spread of lesions. Over time, the intensity of symptoms subsided, and the patient reported an improvement in overall oral health.
