A 40-years-old man, Mr. A.Y. (PIN: 35711) consulted at Life Force Homeopathy Chembur branch on 15th February 2018 for his complaint of skin rash, which used to occur on and off and was accompanied by intense itching and redness for 7-8 months. He was suffering from this complaint daily for around 2-3 hours. His skin eruptions were present all over the body. There were weals present with severe itching and burning on the affected parts. His body was feeling warm, and dermatographism was also present. There was no angioedema present. The patient was continuously thinking of when he will get cured of this and experiencing depression because of it. He was on anti-depressants for his depression complaint. He was on anti-histamines for his urticaria complaint with no satisfactory relief. He had also taken Ayurvedic treatment for the same complaints but got no relief.
His complaints were aggravated in both hot as well as cold weather and also in the evening. He was having a mixed diet and a diminished appetite for a few days. He had a craving for spicy food and an aversion to sweets. He had a habit of drinking alcohol 1-2 times/week. He was intolerant to heat. His bowels and bladder were asymptomatic. His sleep was regular.
He was a receptionist in a hotel. His wife was a homemaker. He had a son and a daughter. He had a past history of being operated for piles two years back. His mother and brother were suffering from diabetes mellitus. After studying his case thoroughly, Dr. Shah prescribed him some research-based medicines for 2 months. He was also advised to undergo blood investigation in which it was found that his thyroid function was completely within normal limit but his vitamin D was on the lower side. So, he was prescribed with vitamin D supplements.
First follow up
On 23rd March 2018, the patient reported that he was 70% better. His urticaria had reduced a lot in the terms of frequency and intensity in his first follow-up itself.
Second follow up
On 29th May 2018, the patient reported that he was experiencing a further relief from his complaint of urticaria. Also, he told that he was much better mentally and had reduced his antidepressants.
Third folow up
On 4th August 2018, the patient reported that he was feeling better by 90%. The frequency and duration of his eruptions had reduced considerably. The patient is still under our treatment for the further recovery.
Conclusion:
This case illustrates that homeopathy offers quick and effective results in treating urticaria. Homeopathy provides a great relief from urticaria successfully and safely without any side-effects.
